CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Particularly in this anything goes retro hoe era, Gucci and their ubiquitous red and green stripe has worked it's way into more than a few designer's products - to varying degrees of success. Some companies do it right and some companies, in the words of En Vogue, are, "never gonna get it ... never gonna get it" ... lol.

Not surprisingly Nike and the Jordan Brand get it right with the Air Jordan Retro 1 High Premier. They score points for the subtle nod to Gucci with the red and green laces AND because, whether they initially made the correlation or not, the Air Jordan 1's are symbolic of the very same bygone, oft romanticized, 1980's high end sneaker boom in the hood as are the original Gucci kicks from which the Jordan Brand has obviously drawn much inspiration. More or less, this combination can best be formulaically expressed as good money + good money = GREAT money! Why wouldn't Y.O.U. cop these sensibly priced dandies? Huh? That's right, there's no good reason not to homie. Holla @ ya boy in BK!
