"Winter is just four days away and I’m not quite sure that there is anything better to keep you warm than a great glass of champagne. Veuve Clicquot always hits the spot and now they are also giving you a dose of style with DKNY.

The two megabrands have collaborated on a pair of super chic limited-edition rubber boots in Veuve Clicquot yellow that will keep you dry all winter long. They are knee-high and will work on the slopes or on the street so they really are a fantastic buy.

“The DKNY for Veuve Clicquot limited-edition boot brings Clicquot in the Snow to life. Our brands both emulate a fun and active lifestyle; I look forward to seeing women show off their boots during après ski as well as in the city this winter.” – Vanessa Katy, Vice President of Veuve Clicquot USA

Clicquot in the Snow is Veuve Clicquot’s annual celebration of winter in which a day on the slopes is followed by champagne during après ski. This marks the fourth year of the celebration and this year the fête will bring champagne and wine tastings nationwide as well as special parties and charity events such as the Veuve Clicquot Tube-a-thon in Vail which will take place in February 2011.

The DKNY for Veuve Clicquot Rubber Boots retail for $98. Visit www.dkny.com to purchase and www.veuve-clicquot.com for more information. They will also be available in DKNY stores in New York City, as well as the DKNY Old Bond Street store in London."

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: First and foremost, NO, I do NOT have a major endorsement deal with Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin nor do I have any outstanding agreement with their majority holding company, the French luxury goods conglomerate L.ouis V.uitton M.oët H.ennessy. So what if this my 2nd time in 2 days mentioning the brand? Sheeesh! However, in the interest of full disclosure, I must admit my affinity for this particular brand of bubbly.

Let us rewind to a time called the early aughts, when Cristal was still the reigning champ of overpriced bottle service champagnes to be seen with. At roughly $400 per bottle though, such a giddily nouveau riche purchase was largely cost prohibitive to mere mortals, so, by default, the less expensive yet still status symbol worthy Moët became the next logical alternative.

And there sat a lonely Veuve Clicquot - an undervalued elixir wasting away on bar menus across America. Nobody rapped about it, so nobody wanted it. Thankfully, their collective ignorance enabled loss was me and my counter parts gain. Not only was I unable to afford even 2 bottles of Cristal @ each outing, I'd had it before and believe me that shit was nasty my nigga. It was all hype. Dom Perignon was good, but @ nearly the same price point as Cristal, that was a no-go for me as well.

So what about Moët? The legendary champagne had christened many a ship before setting sail and has remained the toast of the town for centuries, however, thanks to rap music (NOTE: Shaking my fist in old crotchety man disdain!) it had become entirely too pedestrian for me and my team. We needed a new air of elegance - without the staggering tab @ the end of the night - that would send a waitress blazing a trail from our V.I.P. table to the bar. We chose the brilliant yellowish-orange label of Veuve Clicquot and the "Veuve Crew" was formed. Corks exploded and fell to the floor and champagne glasses overflowed. And the rest was history.

Today, Veuve Clicquot is almost a household name in the "look @ me" world of Hip Hop clubbing. Alas, I fear that the full flavored complexity of this sparkling wine escapes most young people, but, hey, poppin' a few of these bottles will get Y.O.U. some style points ... lol. Anyway, that whole preamble ramble leads us to the star of this entry: The Limited Edition DKNY for Veuve Clicquot Rubber Rain Boots.

There's not much to say about these gully Veuve Clicquot signature yellow galoshes other than that @ $98 there is NO earthly reason why Y.O.U. shouldn't cop yourself a pair TODAY! How many other chicks are Y.O.U. gonna see sporting these bad boys? My estimate is 0! And that's just how we like it around here. Y.O.U. stay classy Livestyle Ladies! Holla @ ya boy in BK!

GROW UP: Oysters = Sexy Time In A Shell.

+

=

"Casanova, was said to consume 50 oysters for breakfast each morning - with spectacular if scandalous benefits. Recent studies show the bivalve mollusks are rich in rare amino acids that can trigger increased levels of sex hormones; their high zinc-content may give them refuelling qualities as well. An ideal companion to champagne."

(NOTE: "In Greek mythology Aphrodite is the Goddess of love and beauty. In Roman mythology the equivalent is Venus. Both Goddesses symbolize erotic love and fertility. It is from Aphrodite that the word aphrodisiac comes from to make reference to any substance that increases sexual desire and enhances sexual performance.

Probably the first aphrodisiacs were those that resembled the sexual organs, thus, food that in some way looked like vaginas were reputed as being aphrodisiacs. In this list one of the most famous aphrodisiac foods are oysters for the clear resemblance to the female sexual organs.")

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: As a general rule, a cliché does not become a cliché without there being, at least @ it's core, some modicum of truth. Take for instance the curious case of oysters. Long the subject of old wive's tales, in recent years, this mighty mollusk has, in fact, been proven to indeed have some aphrodisiac-like qualities. No, oysters on the half-shell won't have your lady friend half-naked after 1 slurp of this sexy sea treat, but it CAN help get the party started.

Aside from it being high in protein and the essential mineral zinc (NOTE: Both known to stimulate libido in men and women alike, as well as, keep men's soldiers @ full salute well into old age.), psychologically the salty, yet sweet smell of an oyster coupled with the aura surrounding it's frisky fueling properties qualifies as a certified date winner.

Pair your order of crisp and cold oysters with some chilled Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin champagne in long stem flutes and get ready to do the grown up thing! Shiiiiiiiiiiiit, legend has it that the man synonymous with tittilating trysts, 18th Century lover Casanova, used to breakfast on 50 oysters each morning! And, I believe that his work ethic in the bedroom speaks for itself homie. *Cue Aaron Hall Voice* "Don't be afraid bay-bee!" LOL. Good shit!

BONUS:

Ladies and gentlemen of Livestyle, per our unspoken, yet assuredly legally binding electronic signature authorized user agreement, it is my sworn duty to, when appropriate, cite and explain any random references that may occur within any given post. Today's allusion worthy of post script illumination is in regard to the criminally underappreciated Mr. Aaron Hall.

At this time please allow me to direct your attention to the above video featuring the former front man of R&B group and "New Jack Swing" pioneers, Guy. Oh yeah, he is also the "fahjah" to R. Kelly's whole style! What? Y.O.U. aint know? Smh.

Anyway, just press play and watch the visual to Aaron Hall's "Don't Be A Afraid" off of the original soundtrack to the 1 of the hood's favorite films, the Tupac Shakur scene stealing "Juice", circa 1992. This is classic material. Act like Y.O.U. know bro!

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Livestyle faithful make no mistake - I am an aesthetic elitist whom delights in few Earthly things more than celebrating and, indeed, championing the cult of the genuine and raising an overflowing Veuve Clicquot filled flute to the fall of the lames. Yet, even as I rally against culture vultures and style poachers whose terribly superficial entrée into this esteemed world is barely worth the inflated price printed on their vintage/thrift store or eBay purchased ticket, I must admit that I too have a price. Well, "price" may be the wrong choice of word - however, there are staunch stances that I have taken that, under the right circumstances, I might be willing to compromise. Case In Point: The Ralph Lauren Polo cashmere "Executive" Teddy Bear knit and the Ralph Lauren Polo cream "Polo Crest/Crizzy" knit.

That I would even consider spending upwards of $800 on either of these turtlenecks (NOTE: I hate turtleneck ... anything! Yes, I am proudly circumcised ... lol) lets Y.O.U. know just how powerful these O.G. pieces really are. Whilst new age Polo fans openly weep over the "Snow Beach" pullover made popular by Raekwon in Wu-Tang Clan's classic "Can It Be All Simple" video, it is precisely this iconic visibility that gives that I.T. it's perceived value, rather than it's actual scarcity. Simply put, Y.O.U. tell me how many pristine "Executive" bears and "Crizzy" knits Y.O.U. see ANYWHERE as compared to "Snow Beach" pullovers in the span of a single calendar year. If Y.O.U. come across either 1 of these crispy treats more than Y.O.U. see "Snow Beach" zip-ups for sale, I will personally reach in my pocket and give Y.O.U. a "G" my G ... lol. That's how confident the fuck I am homie.

In the pantheon of Polo heroes there are a good 20 or so cornerstone I.T.'s (NOTE: Such notables as the "Super Uni Crest" sweater, the O.G. "Circle Suicide Ski" goose and/or matching "Flip" vest, the "Cookie" knit with "POLO USA" spellout down the arm, the O.G. 1992 "Sitdown" Teddy Bear knit and the P-Wing "Rings" sweater to name only a few) upon which many a strong collection has been built and the "Executive" Teddy and the Lo "Crest/Crizzy" knits BOTH belong in that rarified class.

Alas, as the dope boy certified fresh "Lo-End Theory" calvacade of stars draws nie, it still turns my stomach and spurns my pride to imagine just how much new jack simpleton collectors have adversely contributed to the ridiculous ballooning of this subprime-market bubble and how I - a nigga who, back in the day, would've either popped the "Lizzy" on these items myself and/or paid the hood standard half-price to a much more proficient booster to "tief" them for me - might be taxed like a common sucker for a cherished portion of my history. Ehhhhh, what Y.O.U. gonna do? We ALL have our "Holy Grail". It is what it is.

BONUS:

Pursuant to the mission, processes, functions and goals of the Livestyle Graduate School Of Flyer Design, it is incumbent upon me as Dean Of Trueness to provide source material to all referenced material associated with a particular entry. Even though, if Y.O.U. are unfamiliar with the Hype Williams directed vehicle for Wu-Tang's "Can It Be All So Simple", Y.O.U. should go fuck yourself ... lol. Don't be worthless. "Sunshine plays a major part in the day time/Peace to mankind/Ghostface carry a black 9 ... nigga" Know the ledge.

NEW MUSIC: Jay-Z Ft. Kanye West x Rihanna - Run This Town (Dirty)(NO DJ)

Streaming Audio/Download Link: Jay-Z Ft. Kanye West x Rihanna - Run This Town (Dirty)(NO DJ)

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Ok, so "Run This Town", Jay-Z's 1st official single off of the highly anticipated "Blueprint 3", dropped early this morning @ 9:11 AM (Oh, how clever ... "BP 3" is scheduled to release on September 11th 2009 - as the O.G. Blueprint album dropped on that tragic day of infamy, September 11th 2001. Yes, somebody in Jay-Z's camp is a multimedia multiple tie-in marketing genius ... either that or just Captain Obvious ... lol).

Anyway, after hearing Jay-Z mumble flow his way through a few bars of the 1st verse of this song recently on DJ Tim Westwood's show in the merry old UK, I was excited to hear the finished product and, now that I have, let's just say that it might have to grow on me. Now, none of this is to say that "Run This Town" isn't a good track, but, in my esteemed opinion it's simply not good enough. If 65 is a passing grade in High School, then this single is like a 75 ... nothing terrible, but, nothing superlative that's gonna earn anybody a "Student Of The Month" award.

The actual track is cool vintage sounding Kanye West (NOTE: He appears to slowly, but, surely be regaining and upping his testosterone levels) and, as a Brooklyn nigga to the bone marrow, as much as it pains me to admit this, his verse kind of does body Young Vito "Voice Of The Not So Young People" on this joint. Oh yeah, Rihanna took time out from shaving half of her pretty little head and biting Cassie's whole entire steez to fit this tune with a catchy hook.

In summary, YES, I will probably @ some point find myself drunk in a club triumphantly singing this song from the comforts of a V.I.P. booth behind a fortress of overpriced Veuve Clicquot Rosé bottles with a gang of my peoples, but, it won't be because I L.O.V.E. this song ... it will only be because I L.O.V.E. this life! Y.O.U. understand, don't Y.O.U.? This is Livestyle.

LVMH Can't Hold Their Liquor?

"News of a potential sale of the liquor division of LVMH has the luxury business world buzzing. A report in the Telegraph says that spirits giant Diageo has tendered a 12 billion euro offer for LVMH's two-thirds stake in Moet Hennessy and that Diageo has set about raising capital with bankers working behind the scenes for several weeks.

The Financial Times asserts that Diageo has not made an unsolicited offer for Moët Hennessy but might be willing to buy if both parties could agree on a price. So far the talks appear to be more theoretical than actual because LVMH hasn't decided that they are ready to sell. The potential deal brings up an interesting question, in a softening luxury market which is better to hold onto, fashion brands like Marc Jacobs, Fendi and Louis Vuitton or liquor brands like Glenmorangie whisky, Belevedere and Chopin vodka, and Veuve Clicquot?"

Information Courtesy Of: Luxist.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: As a founding member of the world renowned Veuve Crew, this story indubitably piqued my interest. According to some recent reports, the lord of luxury labels, my main man Bernard Arnault, might be considering dropping the "MH" from his L.ouis V.uitton M.oët & H.ennessy empire. Only earlier this month did I feature a story about Mr. Arnault and his extensive portfolio of high society lifestyle (Shout out to Curt@!ns) holdings and, now, there's talk that he could be persuaded to sell the remaining two-thirds stake of his lucrative liquor division to drink brand dynamo Diageo if they can raise the ducketts to do it.

Now, be clear, Moët & Hennessy are hardly dead weight, however, in this recessionary market even the rich guys are having to tighten their billion dollar belts. I mean, LVMH did just acquire Donna Karan International and continues to remain active in several key selective sectors - so, maybe fashion is the future my friends. Shiiiiiiiiit, if Y.O.U. ask me, champagne and fine clothes always go together.

Limited Edition Veuve Clicquot x Riva Cruise Collection Set AKA Young Yacht Club Business.

"And the very mention of Veuve Clicquot again would make you bath in champagne but this time not in an isolated room rather on a cruise in open sky. Yes, if you failed to put your fingers upon Veuve Clicquot Night Clubber and the lavish Champagne that they produced to celebrate their 130th anniversary then here is another that you make you feel surely high. Against its earlier association with Karim Rashid for Globalight Cum Champagne Cooler, now Veuve Clicquot is in news for designing a cruise collection for luxury Italian boat designer RIVA. Jason Bruges Riva is the luxury speedboat company behind the iconic boats of the 60’s and the golden age of the Dolce Vita lifestyle. The design collaboration with Riva is for Veuve Clicquot’s top champagne (prestige cuvee) called La Grande Dame, and details two different accessories for Riva boats: a “made to order” piece and a limited edition one.

The “made to measure” cruise collection would cost $80,000 and includes 4 bottles of La Grande Dame 98, 2 magnums of La Grande Dame 88, 6 champagne flutes Riedel and 6 water tumblers, plates, table mats and cutlery. Another one is a limited edition cruiser bag with counted 300 pieces available and includes a bottle of La Grande Dame 98 and two champagne flutes. Expected to be available from July, it is priced at $425 and would be available at Veuve Clicquot.

All [of] the pieces are made of mahogany, chrome and leather - and made by some of the world’s best craftsmen."

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: As a founding member of the world famous Veuve Crew, this story puts ice in my bucket and warms my extravagantly inebriated heart ... lol. As I have probably mentioned before, while everybody else was chugging overpriced bottles of Cristal in the empty hopes of reenacting some rap video, my young, yet highly discerning friends and I discovered Veuve Clicquot and unanimously placed our bets on the orange label.

Our choice of Veuve Clicquot as our favorite bubbly should come as no surprise though as the house that Philippe Clicquot-Muiron built waaaaaaaaaay back in 1792 played an integral part in establishing champagne as the preferred beverage of the haute bourgeoisie and nobility throughout Europe. Yeah, basically, we are in good company ... lol.

With that said, Y.O.U. already know that I fuxs with this Limited Edition Veuve Clicqout and Riva Cruise Collection Set. While I might not be able to swing the custom made to order $80,000 joint, I'm all over the $425 set homie. Classy is as classy does. Good shit.

The Veuve Clicquot Signature Champagne Bar @ Harrods = "The Veuve Crew Is Back Off Vacation"!

"Harrods, the block-long High Street retail mecca in London, has added yet another reason to stop and shop this holiday season. Now you can drink champagne (Veuve Clicquot, no less) while browsing. Veuve has opened a champagne bar amongst the high-fashion threads on the first floor of the seven-story palace. The signature gray and yellow lounge serves up the full range of Veuve champagnes, both by the bottle and the glass. There’s also a small a la carte menu and Veuve gifts to be had. Bottoms up."

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Clothing, music and real estate are not the only arenas in which I consistently exhibit exquisite visionary taste. I pride myself on my individuality and my ability to appreciate life beyond superficial brand names.

Case In Point: During the late 1990's while everybody was blowing money on bottles of Cristal in a pathetic attempt to keep up with the rap "Joneses", I, and my cohorts, began to imbibe large amounts of Veuve Cliquot everywhere we went. Seriously, from Club Spa (renamed several times in years since), to Lotus, to birthday parties, Bar Mitzvahs and any street corner that we chose. The founding members included such inspirational people as Rob Young, Javon, Yves, Michelle, Nicole, my brother Niketown and, later, Paul Parris.

So, why Veuve Cliquot? Well, having been blessed with quite the discerning palate, I simply found it's taste to be superior to that of other bubblies ... I didn't need any rapper to green light my champagne of choice. In fact, I have never liked the taste of Cristal. I have popped my share of Cristal bottles and I was disappointed that I spent $500 or better on that shit in the club every time my nigga. Plus, my crew was on some other shit. We were fly while most people were still taxing the runway and we don't follow trends.

Today, now that the world is beginning to catch up to my Veuve Crew, I have no complaints. Although Livestyle is all about exclusivity, this is 1 trend that I would not mind catching on.

Oh yeah, the house that Madame Clicquot built has just given me 1 more awesome reason to visit London's shopping paradise, Harrods, with this bar. Livestyle is always about being the "Best Of The Breed". Holla @ ya boy in BK!
