2 Chainz Ft. Jadakiss - One Day At A Time (Official Music Video)(Directed By Jim Jones)

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, of course, any contemporary Hip Hop aficionado worth his/her salt is no doubt familiar with the appellation "Jimmy From 5H" - a reverent designation bestowed upon Jim "Last Man Standing For Chrissy Lampkin" Jones by his childhood friend Cam'ron in recognition of his humble Harlem beginnings in an apartment demarked "5H". Get it? Got it? Good.

However, now, in 2012, allow me to formally submit the possibility that the very same "H" in "5H" is evolving and, in the not too distant future, may come to represent much more than an apartment number. Indeed, the honorable letter "H" when mentioned in association with Jim Jones may come to mean "Hype" ... as in Hype Williams. Nahh, let me chill ... but it IS nice to see Mr. "Love And Hip Hop" get back behind the camera lens and diversify his artistic portfolio. I mean, I don't think Y.O.U. could really put "I'm not a tough guy, but I play one on T.V." on your resume, right? Yeeeeeeeeeah, probably not. LOL.

Oohh, lest I forget boys and girls ... this song itself meets the standard for a schedule I narcotic and thereby legitimately qualifies as a controlled substance. Don't push the "SNOOZE" button on the homie 2Chainz too hastily either my nigga ... especially since he kinda DOES body Jadakiss (NOTE: Who clearly smoked a zip of "Dour" and "mailed it in" on his verse, but still.) on this track. ".40 hit 'em, leave 'em wet ... baptized ... and you know I'ma sucker for long hair and wet thighs ..." Wooooooooooooooo! That's that real "Codeine Cowboy" talk right thurr boy! LOL. Good shit!

NEW MUSIC: Kanye West Ft. Cam'ron, Jim Jones, Vado, Pusha-T, Cyhi Da Prince, Big Sean, Teyana Taylor And Musiq - Christmas In Harl3m (Dirty)(DJ)

Streaming Audio/Download Link: Kanye West Ft. Cam'ron, Jim Jones, Vado, Pusha-T, Cyhi Da Prince, Big Sean, Teyana Taylor And Musiq Soulchild - Christmas In Harlem (Dirty)(DJ)

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS:  Apparently, having realized what a glaring career mistake it would have been to carry on an empty feud with Mr. West, Mr. West, Uptown NYC's champion representers, the Diplomats, have come to their senses and issued a cease-and-desist order on the bullshit rap beef meat marketing plan order for the holidays.  Their reward?  Jim Jones, Cam'ron and Vado get to appear alongside Yeezy, Pusha-T, Cyhi Da Prince, Big Sean, Teyana Taylor and Musiq Soulchild on the official completed version of "Christmas In Harlem".  It's only right. I've been waiting for a respectable tagless version of this joint since last week, but fuck it! This'll do in the meantime G. Merry Christmas to all and to all a G.O.O.D. night!

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: With this week's highly anticipated by (almost) everyone release of Harlem patriot/Cam'ron wingman Vado's glorified mixtape as debut street album, "Slime Flu", for better or for worse, a large amount of New York City's Hip Hop relevance may rest upon this young man's hunched shoulders.

In recent years, few, if any artists from the big manzana have been able to even sustain a buzz worth mentioning. Papoose? Nah. Fred Da Godson? Not bloody likely ... lol. Mattel®'s "Booty Shot" Barbie®, Nicki Minaj, is poised to breakthrough like no other New York born and bred artist since 50 Cent turned 9 bulletholes into 9 million plus in domestic record sales. Y.O.U. go girl! LOL. However, although Nicki Minaj is most definitely from Queens, NY, she succeeds largely because - much like Barack Obama during the election of 2008 was able to transcend race (NOTE: And we all see how that's working out for him now ... lol) - her sound and novelty mini-stroke like facial features know no region. She is both from everywhere and nowhere @ the same time. So there that goes. Truth be told, the only truly distinguished New York artist to make any significant noise on a national scale in the past 5 years is Maino ... and his numbers, while certainly admirable, do NOT qualify him has a household name kind of star.

This now begs the question: Does Vado have the intangibles necessary to propel himself to superstar status? Probably not. But, what he does have is a great set up, good music and a hype machine intent on cranking out as much content as his growing legions of rabid fans can handle and that's a pretty good start.

So, whilst I in now way, shape OR form support the blasphemous misconception that Vado (NOTE: Also feel free to include Lo-Life impersonator Young "All I Know Is Horseys" Dro in this condemnation) is somehow the new face of Ralph Lauren Polo culture, I do support his music. It is what it is. Y.O.U. stay classy Harlem!

Fresh T-Shirts! Get Your Fresh Limited Edition C.rooks V.ault V.ado "Slime Flu" T-Shirt Here!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Tonight Cam'ron's most notable "Dipset Replacement Killer" and fellow life long Harlem representer, Vado, is pulling double duty unveiling both his solo mixtape "Slime Flu" and the Crooks & Castles sponsored collabo t-shirt that accompanies his latest overture to the streets.

Although New York City is a fashion capital and our diverse denizens regularly occupy the driver's seat for international pop culture, curiously, most of our new Hip Hop acts choose to climb the ladder of success naked - that is they either blindly forgo or simply ignore the intrinsic value of the creative cross-market collaboration in today's new media landscape. Basically, it's not nearly enough to merely be a "good rapper" in this ultra competitive climate where an artist must not only do battle with other acts playing musical chairs @ x___________________________ (Insert Random Major Or Independent Record Label Name Here.), but also struggles to seize the fleeting attention of today's fickle consumer.

Apparently, Vado got the memo and wisely hooked up with the sultans of streetwear @ Crooks & Castles and cooked up some cut and sew crack just in time for Summer 2010. Emblazoned with the signature Crooks & Castles re-rendered Versace Medusa's head rocking a bandit style bandana, the official limited edition "Slime Flu" C.rooks V.ault V.ado t-shirt goes on sale tonight @ the meet and greet @ Goliath NY in Harlem, NY and will be available while supplies last. Get yours!
