Jay-Z Breaks Down His Verse For Coldplay's "Most Kingz" (Promo Trailer For His Forthcoming Autobiography "Decoded") x A Special LiveStyle Commentary.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Whereas the mainstream world has come to know the verse that Jay-Z describes in great detail in the above video clip from his after thought of a collaboration with his BFF Chris Martin and his amazing band, Coldplay, any Hip Hop aficionado worth his or her salt knows where this blitz of bars really originated.

Still reeling from the ego crushing shock of having his return album "Kingdom Come" more or less panned by critics and fans alike, a NOT so Young Vito touched down @ Hot 97 FM's Lower Manhattan studios with a chip on his shoulder and some shit to get off his chest. What happened next is the stuff that Hip Hop legend is made of. Atop Kanye West's "Grammy Family" beat, Jay-Z proceeded to anoint the airwaves of Funkmaster Flex's show with arguably 1 of the best radio freestyles ever breathed into existence. Nah, no bullshit son ... the homie really DID rap his ever loving Izod Lacoste™ socks off ... lol!

To truly appreciate this post "Kingdom Come"/pre "American Gangster" moment Y.O.U. kinda just had to be there, glued to your radio that night in October 2006. That having been said, chances are that many of Y.O.U. - particularly those based outside of the New York metropolitan area - missed this Halley's Comet like occurrence. Not to worry though, thanks to the miracle of the internet and the masses insatiable appetite for content, nearly 4 years after the fact, a full length video of this live on air MC clinic finally popped up online only a few weeks ago. Sure, the video is dark and grainy, but Y.O.U. get the point.

Come one, come all and witness a 1 hand in his pocket @ all times Jay-Z in full "Rain Man" mode as he stumbles and mumbles his way through a taster's menu of freshly picked verses from his "Marcy to Madison Square" garden of heirloom thoughts. There's more double entendres than Y.O.U. can shake a stick @ here boys and girls ... lol. "Hov got flow though he's no Big and Pac, but he's close. How I'm 'posed to win? They got me fighting ghosts ...", "Everybody wanna be the King then shots ring, you laying on your balcony with holes in your dream or you Malcolm X'd out, get distracted by screams. Everybody get your hand out my jeans!" Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!? This shit is just 1 big quotable my nigga. Stop playin'. Listen and L.O.V.E. it!

Grammy Family: LiveStyle Highlights From The 51st Annual Grammy Awards 2009.

Coldplay Wins "Best Rock Album" Of The Year

Coldplay Ft. Jay-Z - Lost (Acoustic)/Viva La Vida

T.I. Ft. Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne x A Super Pregnant M.I.A. - Swagger Like Us

Lil Wayne Wins "Best Rap Album" Of The Year

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS:  Not since Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince were preposterously winning "Best Rap Album" Grammy Awards have I taken the Grammy's seriously.  In fact, I have never been much of a fan of award shows in general ... they've always seemed pretentiously over hyped, predictable and, therefore, anti-climactic to me.

One curious thing of note though is that, if I am going to watch anything even resembling an entertainment award ceremony a general rule of thumb is:  the more ig'nant and hastily put together, the better ... lol.  Like, basically, the clearly less reputable B.E.T. Awards stand a far better chance of getting my Nielsen rating than the Grammy Awards.  Also, even though I consider the Oscars to be a Hollywood cocksucing snooze-fest, I do try to watch the poppin' movies that get all of the nominations - "Gran Turino" and "The Wrestler" were both dope and, now, I'm waiting to get my DVD screener copy of "Slumdog Millionaire" back.

Anyway, more than merely housing the world's greatest public porn collection, the internet has also made it so people don't have to suffer through bullshit just to see the music videos, skits, T.V. shows and, in this case, 2009 Grammy Award performances that they really wanted to see in the 1st place.  Enjoy the highlights yall!

Coldplay Ft. Jay-Z - Lost

Soooooooooooooooooooooooo, every "I-really-think-that-I'm-above-the-fray-because-White-people-will-talk-to-me-in-public-now" Hip Hop artist's favorite rock band, Coldplay (NOTE: Coldplay is an incredible band and has been for years, but this shouldn't be regarded as news by rappers), just dropped this hastily put together video for some left field and totally unnecessary remix of a dope song called "Lost" featuring Euro Jay-Z on it. Everything about this could have been better, but, it also could have been alot worse ... lol.

I've already revealed that I am very much partial to this amazing song, but Hype Williams really did do his thing with this 1! On the real, nobody brings audio visuals to the screen like he does
