Malice - "Am I My Brother's Keeper?" ("Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind And Naked" Vignette #3)

Malice's Vignette # 3 from Malice of the Clipse on Vimeo.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Former champion triple beam balancer turned Bible thumping Thornton brother, Malice of The Clipse, continues his assault on our overly materialistic and spiritually dulled senses with this, the 3rd installment of his vignette series. "Am I My Brother's Keeper?" speaks to the wedge driven between older and younger brother when both come to the same fork in life's road and take vastly divergent paths. Be not dismayed though as Malice makes it abundantly clear that, no matter what, home is most definitely where the heart is! Y.O.U. already know. Malice's soul purging memoir, "Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind And Naked", goes on sale this Saint Valentine's Day 2011. Pre-order your copy here homie. Fix up and look sharp!

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Apparently today is the day for both Thornton brothers to get some much deserved Livestyle shine! Lest we forget that the oft neglected half of The Clipse got something to say too, here are the 2nd and 3rd installments of Malice's powerful "Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind And Naked" webisode series. I mean, judging from the impassioned excerpts alone, this book could be a "Rowdy" Roddy Piper "sleeper hold" hit when it drops. Good shit!

BONUS:

Of course, I had to include a classic 1980's Golden Era clip of aforementioned wrestling great "Rowdy" Roddy Piper applying said "sleeper hold" signature finisher to a victim (Some guy named Hulk Hogan? Never heard of him ... lol) as a visual aide for our younger readers and to serve as a sweet slice of nostalgia for the O.G.'s in the house! Like, what the fuck is a W.W.E. anyway? It's W.W.F. baby!

Malice - "Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind And Naked" Excerpt #1.

Malice's Book Excerpt #1 from Malice of the Clipse on Vimeo.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: The other Thornton brother, Malice (1 half of The Clipse), continues to impress as he quietly solidifies his place as 1 of Hip Hop's most thoughtful philosophers - an all too rare role in today's anti-intellectual race to the bottom climate.

In this video, Malice reads an excerpt from his forthcoming Gemstars and foreign cars memoir, "Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind And Naked" (NOTE: See Revelation 3:17). Good shit!

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: As a man famously unconcerned with celebrity circle-jerk award shows, it is 1 of life's great ironies that I would delve into a profession such as blogging that relies so heavily on covering all the pop culture shenanigans that are fit to type. I mean, it's not that I hate award ceremonies per se, it's just that I can watch them on loop again-and-again for like the next month.

Alas, the internet waits for no man when it comes to the consumption of fresh news though, so my ambivalence must take a back seat to my duties as the beloved creator and chief curator of Livestyle. Yes, in this rare instance, your needs come well before my own ... lol. See how much I L.O.V.E. Y.O.U.?

Anyway, bouncing back to the Left Coast for 2010, this years MTV V.ideo M.usic A.wards was held live @ L.A.'s Nokia Theater and hosted by tired slut turned tired comedian (?) the E-Channel's painfully NOT funny Chelsea Handler.

Poor hosting choice aside, I did learn a few things from this year's award show: 1) Lil Bow Ma was apparently issued a "cease and desist" order by entertainment and banished to H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks and 2) Without her or Kanye West's Hennessey and Amber Rose fueled outbursts, this show was kind of boring. More on Mr. West, Mr. West later.

Last night belonged to Lady Gaga - a woman whom I admittedly once thought was all media hype but, whose talents I can no longer deny. Underneath her butcher shop cold cut draped ball gown lies a woman that can blow! Akon's meal ticket did the damn thing and took home 8 ... count 'em 8 awards! Nice. Young "Leaver It To Beiber" won "Best New Artist" and Beyonce won "Best Collaboration" for her "Telephone" (NOTE: Not to be confused with "Videophone") joint with Queen Gaga.

Some White people that I don't care about also performed and Taylor Swift continued to milk her "I'm-a-helpless-little-White-girl-that-was-accosted-by-some-evil-Black-rapper-man" victim hood bullshit from last year's run-in with Kanye West and sang a brand new off-key song all about it. Whatevs.

Drake, alongside a fake piano playing Swizz Beatz and Mary J. Blige, hit the stage and did his mildly retarded face meets crazy "My right hand has a mind of it's own" typical show set too. Oh yeah, Sofia Vergara is a true M.I.L.F. vision of beauty to behold with a voice to put on mute.

Ummmmmm, what else? Fuck it! A lot of other shit happened but, the highlight of the night for me was Kanye West's show stopping performance, (NOTE: I mean literally ... he was the last act ... lol) a world premiere of his "toast for the douche bags" national anthem "Runaway".

Dressed in a red suit ala Richard Pryor Live On The Sunset Strip and drenched in wild old man Puerto Rican chains on, the homie from the Chi went for his with an MPC 2000 live on stage and launched into 1 of the best songs that I've heard thus far off his upcoming album. Son even spread some of that G.O.O.D. Music L.O.V.E. and shared the spotlight with his newest and most yapped about signee, Pusha "Check out my pink pussy blazer" T of The Clipse! Now, THAT'S how Y.O.U. set your artist up my nigga.

At the end of the day, as always, some people lost and some people won. A good time was had by all. Holla @ ya boy in BK!

Malice - This Is Only A Test

This Is Only A Test from Malice of the Clipse on Vimeo.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Once again, Malice (1 half of The Clipse) drops a few jewels along the path to knowledge for the people via his personal vlog. It's truly a shame that his brother Pusha-T's performances regularly outshine his own, having effectively rendered him a guest feature on his own songs because, if Y.O.U. pay close attention, Malice always does his thing. His "thing" being proudly assuming that all too rare role of an adult in Hip Hop espousing raw 2.2 pound profound game in a rap world overrun by gaggles of stupid overgrown children. I appreciate that. Real recognize real. Good shit!

The Clipse x Co. Celebrate The 1st Anniversary Of Play Cloths @ KarmaloopTV.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: The Clipse were joined by Mickey Factz and fashion forward rap renegade and O.G. Livestyle family member Curt@!n$ as they took over the penthouse of the Hotel Rivington in NYC to celebrate the 1st birthday of their Play Cloths clothing line. KarmaloopTV let the cameras roll and captured all of the dope boy debauchery as the Thornton brothers and friends toasted to a successful transition from moving yayo to overseeing an ever expanding cut and sew label. Niiiiiiiiiiiiice.

The Clipse's "Till The Casket Drops" Gets L.O.V.E. On ABC World News Now AKA Not All Looks Are Created Equal ... Suckaaaaaaaaaas!

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Yes, of course, your standard Hip Hop press circuit is an essential part of any well balanced rap ready media blitz, but, securing a look on ABC World News Now is some other shit (so what if the show only airs @ like 3AM EST? LOL.) ... especially if your name isn't 50 Cent, Eminem or Jay-Z. Salute to The Clipse. Niiiiiiiiiiice.
