I'm a professional nonchalant bon vivant whose various interests unfortunately often ferry me far, far away from the music that I L.O.V.E. The streets keep calling me like a bill collector. Surrounded by a who's-who of New York City Downtown cool, I had the distinct privilege of celebrating the release of Curt@!n$'s latest bundle of audio dope, the aptly titled "#Killer Tape", Tuesday night @ Prohibit NYC. The magic and emotional heft of some moments cannot be accurately quantified in writing. Curt@!ns continually inspires me. Y.O.U. just had to be there.

Now, when words fail, pictures, typically make for a good runner up. Too b-a-d that ya boy did NOT bring his camera. Smh. I took a lot of pictures though or, rather, I had a lot of pictures taken of me. I know what the people like. My LO game gave quite a few of those Hipsters in attendance heart palpitations ... lol.

Shout out to ALL of my real niggas and itchbays that came out that night including Rob Young, Javon "Mr. Pink" Floyd, Joe Hayes, the little sis Aisha, my entrepreneurial partner in crime, China, the undisputed queen of the global Downtown scene, Va$htie Kola, the O.G. fashion man Ferris Bueller and the entire H.igh S.ociety L.ife gang. Oh yeah, shout out to William Yan too for taking the black-and-white picture accompanying this entry above. He didn't know my name and listed me on some Biz Markie "Just A Friend" shit in the caption for that image ... lol. I still gotta teach these kids, huh? It's all good. I got this!

The First Lady of LiveStyle Says: I hate to say it but I am a bit jealous. I mean, who wouldn't be? The undisputed queen of the global "Downtown" scene, Va$htie Kola, just knocked out a major collab with Nike's Jordan Brand! That shoulda been me! lol. In due time though. Freind and fellow Livestyle family member, Rob Young (NOTE: Shhhhhhhhhhhhh! He's Chris's cousin AND Va$htie's manager), said he would never deny me of anything I ever wanted in life and I'm gonna hold him to that. LOL! K. Enough with the insiders. Back to the matter at foot ... lol.

Thankfully, Va$htie handled this one in a million gift from sneaker heaven with a connoisseur's appreciation for the classics and a tasteful eye for detail resisting any Hipsterific urge to go all paintball-game-meets-fashion color collage crazy on us! LOL. No, instead, the talented Ms. Kola opted to soften up this timeless silhouette with a very feminine (NOTE: But NOT in a faggy way ... lol) simple lavender accented by deep-purple colorway. These obviously über limited edition Violette themed Retro Jordan II's are scheduled to hit select Tier-0 account retail locations October 2nd.

Ok everybody, gather 'round, it's confession time. I, Aisha Ali, have never really been a fan of the II's. Wait! Hear me out. I always thought that they made my feet (NOTE: Which ARE small, thank Y.O.U. very much ... lol) look waaaaaaaaay too chunky; but that's just me. I know I'm not the only one tired of wearing my 4 inch stilettos. I'm sure some of Y.O.U. LiveStyle Ladies can pull them off!

Good luck getting your hands on these bad boys though, cuz I know hundreds of Va$htie's "downtown sweethearts"/cult followers will be waiting in line bright and early, from sea-to-shining-sea, like savages the morning that this dope girl fresh delivery drops! You've been warned.

With that being said, my main man 100 grand/partner in crime at St. Johns/very good friend Tyler White, was featured in a Va$htie production and I didn't know! WHAT!? Y.O.U. have no idea how proud I am. It's like watching your kids first little league game, except this THIRDFLOOR NEW YORK Fall 2010 Look Book video is the major leagues! LOL! It feels like yesterday Tyler and I were in Crazy April's English comp class working on iSearch projects asking ourselves the question "Should I Model?"
