The Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low 2012 = The Elephant NOT Quite Yet In The Room.

"It looks like Supreme and Nike SB are getting in bed once again for what can only result in pandemonium. Revisiting the Jordan inspired elephant print dunk lows of 2002, Supreme is switching things up, infusing a heavy dose of red to the upper, set off by the Supreme box logo printed across the insoles. Stay with us for further information on this 10 year anniversary release."

Information Courtesy Of: Highsnobiety.Com x Sneakernews.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Whilst it would seem that the entire sneaker loving universe is trapped in the unrelenting death grip of a full fledged Nike Foamposite frenzy brought on, no doubt, by a retro revisionist history that has taken what was originally a marginally popular pair of sneakers and deified them beyond rational belief in their retail resurrection, some of us O.G. Kicks connoisseurs still fondly remember when the SB Dunk was the undisputed heavyweight champeen of all major quick strike releases.

Fittingly, 10 years after their groundbreaking inaugural creative conspiracy to divide the sneaker world between them, streetwear demigods Supreme NYC have once again joined forces with Nike - the only sneaker company that REALLY matters (NOTE: I mean, I'm an equal opportunity spender when it comes to any and all things that my ever discerning eye identifies as fly - high price being neither an attraction or a disincentive when purchasing an item - but when it comes to kicks my nigga ... Let's be real) - to commemorate this auspicious anniversary with this Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low drop for 2012.

This updated collabo combines the thoughtful and aesthetically smart Air Jordan "Elephant" print that made the original 2002 Dunk lows so popular with a vibrant Chicago Bulls-esque colorway of red uppers and toecaps offset by the subtle "Supreme" and Nike Skateboarding (NOTE: Y.O.U. knew that's what the "SB" in Nike SB stood for, right? Right? Don't play with me.) "SB" logo branded insoles, black accents and black signature Nike "Swoosh".

Sounds awesome, right? Hold up though, with no confirmed release date set for these Geological Society of America® approved gems, Hipsters AND decidedly haute couture hoods alike are just gonna have to chill, stack that fetti and dream a little Supreme dream in the meantime. Stay on point my niggas. This is Livestyle.

The Supreme Spring/Summer 2012 "Kate Moss" T-Shirt = I Want. The Nike Air Foamposite One "Galaxy All-Star" = Not So Much.

Certainly none of us can say we didn’t see it coming: Kate Moss joins the pantheon of Dipset, Lou Reed, Kermit the Frog, Mike Tyson and Chef Raekown as the newest celebrity to grace the front of a Supreme photo tee (though this officially marks the third go-round for the model and the New York-based skate label). It’s a safe bet that the tee will sell out within a few hours once Supreme opens for business this Thursday (and continue to sell out as the store restocks throughout the weekend), so if you’re unable to get your hands on one at least there are a host of other graphic tees on offer, the majority of which features understated designs built around the Supreme logo.

Release Dates:

February 23rd, 2012 (Thursday) – NY, LA, & London

February 25th, 2012 (Saturday) – Japan

March 1st, 2012 (Thursday) – Online

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Amazingly, a recent sub-cultural tectonic plate shift has occurred in the messageboard fueled frenzied world of streetwear mania: The heretofore unchallengeable exigent importance of a brand new Supreme New York collection drop looks to be rivaled, if not entirely surpassed, by that of this Saturday's Nike Air Foamposite One "Galaxy All-Star" release. Whoa!

Both brands have an impressive history of drawing huge crowds of Thirst McGurst Trendoids ready to wait on line, OUTSIDE(!) over night for a chance to purchase their respective goods with each big release, however, this time the stakes are a bit higher. This time - because although releasing 2 days apart, one needs to wait on line just to secure a wristband to then wait on yet another surely D.epartment of M.otor V.ehicles-sized line to even get a shot @ purchasing the "Galaxy All-Star"s when they do officially drop - these release dates will effectively overlap thereby throwing the Hypebeast space-time continuum out of whack! Indeed, time is of the essence.

So now, as this asshole apocalypse looms ever near, the question becomes: With the Supreme Spring/Summer 2012 Collection (NOTE: Anchored by the indisputably #HeroinChic defined Supreme signature celebrity-as-ironic-spokesmodel Kate Moss tee) debuting bright and early this Thursday morning, February 23, 2012 and the aforementioned Foamposites on deck 48 hours later for the morning of February 25, 2012, what's an easily influenced, individuality deficient Hipster to do? Decisions, decisions.

I'll tell Y.O.U. what, while everyone else is having their objective realities irreparably mangled in the rusty gears of quantum mechanics and dealing with the pressing metaphysical conundrums associated with this weekend's impending parallel universe split that threatens to shatter the whole Trendoid macrocosm into multi-shards of competing banality, I think that I'ma just sit this 1 out. I want my Kate Moss t-shirt. I give 0 fux about another pair of overhyped Foams though! The sneaker game is ALL fucked up now. SMH. Message To Supreme NYC: I have a date with destiny @ your online shop come 12:01AM March, 1, 2012. Let's get it!

BONUS:
Soooooooooooooooo, this is the line of desperately dehydrated individuals that formed outside of 21 Mercer Street yesterday in hopes of merely getting their hands on the wristband that will guarantee their dumb ass place on line to purchase the Nike Air Foamposite One "Galaxy All-Star"s come this Saturday, February 25, 2012. Word? FUCK OUTTA HERE!

Drake Ft. Lil Wayne x Tyga - The Motto (Official Music Video)

Drake ~ The Motto Featuring Lil Wayne & Tyga (Official Video) from OctobersVeryOwn on Vimeo.
CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Ummmmmm, was Drake styled by Mase circa 1996 for this video? Really my nigga? Baseball gloves? That's how Y.O.U. feel? I don't care if son is flammin' a Supreme x The North Face® Leopard Print Nuptse ... 1 does NOT cancel out the other. As a matter of fact, if you're not a girl, 99% of the time leopard print is str8 unacceptable! Fuck the dumb shit. Niggas just need to chill ... seriously.

Anyway, I thought that a grown man rocking Nike baseball gloves without nary a batting cage in sight was horrific enough, but that fashion snafu pales in comparison to Lil Wayne and his fluorescent lime green moonboots. SMH. I had to deadass do a double take when I 1st seen them shits. I just witnessed this turkey throw up his "I-pay-for-protection" honorary Blood Gang "B"'s, hop his ass up off the hood of a classic California ganxta standard red 1964 Chevrolet Impala and attempt to get his G-stroll on in a pair of fluorescent lime green moonboots! And I know aint NOBODY on that video set told that nigga nothing! For shame YMCMB, for shame. Question For The Youth: And these are your idols? No bueno.

The Nike Graphic Studio Art Show @ Compound Gallery In Portland, Oregon = The Fresh AIRS Fund.

"Compound Gallery in Portland, Oregon, will be hosting the Nike Graphic Studio Art Show starting tomorrow, September 1st. The exhibition is inspired by Nike‘s long and rich history of innovation in design, and will feature pieces in various media created by a select group of Nike designers. Proceeds from the show will go directly to relief efforts in Japan, with Nike Foundation matching that donation amount. The show will kick off tomorrow evening with an opening reception scheduled from 7 to 10 pm with the artists in attendance.

Compound Gallery

Portland, OR 97209

Exhibition Dates: September 1st, 2011 – September 30th, 2011"

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: At its core art is the only true universal language. And that language - not stymied by clumsy mistranslation - has the unique ability to speak to each of our hearts and minds and make material our wildest dreams. Word to Diego Rivera!

Contemporarily speaking, and particularly for young forward thinking fashionistas fresh out of flight school, sneakers are art. Enthusiasts marvel over and passionately discuss the finer points of kicks construction, debate the importance of certain models and excoriate "variants" (NOTE: That more or less means "fakes" for those poor, poor few of Y.O.U. unfamiliar with the online all things "Swoosh" related mecca that is the NikeTalk message board ... lol). I mean, have Y.O.U. ever seen the cue in front of a sneaker store when a super limited edition pair of Dunks drops? SMH. That shit could rival the lines seen @ the MET last month for the closing of the "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" retrospective show my nigga! LOL. Shit is most definitely real. As such, it makes perfect sense that the once and future king of athletic footwear, Nike, would commission the brilliant Nike Graphic Studio Art Show @ the Compound Gallery in Portland, Oregon (NOTE: Yup, where Phil Knight started it ALL!).

The just launched installation is an amazing assemblage of repurposed props that have been cleverly appropriated as art paying fanatical pop-culture homage to the legendary Nike brand. There's also an in-gallery store as well that I knooooooow is chock-full of all kinds of exclusive goodness. And that all of the proceeds from the door will be matched by the Nike Foundation and go directly to earthquake relief efforts in Japan only makes this already dope show that much better! See, art AND sneakerheads DO have heart afterall ... lol. Good shit!

The NEIGHBORHOOD Fall/Winter 2011 "Gimme Shelter" Collection = Wild, Wild Fresh!

"Neighborhood presents the first releases of their new Fall/Winter 2011 ‘Gimme Shelter’ Collection. Next to the usual solid range of denim, the Japanese brand presents shirts, pullovers, some light weight late summer jackets and a very nice range of accessories, including sunglasses, keychains, hats and a pair of boots."

Information Courtesy Of: Highsnobiety.Com

Visit NEIGHBORHOOD Online Here: Neighborhood.JP

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Ironically, as the median household income has virtually dropped across the entire world, there remains pockets of people with deep enough pockets to insulate themselves from the everyday humdrum hunger pains that afflict the abject commoner. Some are separated from us by tall cast-iron gates enclosed in comfy localized cul-de-sac communities while still others belong to a more far reaching global neighborhood of well to do muthafuckas. It is to those rarefied individuals - barring that they share an international fashion sense coupled with a youthful eye for fashion as well - that Japan's premier posh streetwear label NEIGHBORHOOD Technical Apparel label appeals.

Founded in 1994 by Shinsuke Takizawa, NEIGHBORHOOD has come to represent not only the height of Harajuku, Tokyo metropolitan mode, but also contemporary urban high fashion around the world. Not too shabby, huh? But, all of these accolades come @ a *Cue Larry David Voice* "pretty, pretty, pretty" steep price ... to the consumer. Yes, as well as having established a stellar reputation as a cutting edge brand that traffics in irrefutably high quality clothes they are equally well known for their ex-fucking-orbinant prices. Ahem, $800 jeans anyone? Yeah, it's like that homie.

Anyway, the NEIGHBORHOOD Fall/Winter 2011 "Gimme Shelter" Collection is precisely the beaucoup bucks style bonanza that fans have come to expect and pay for from this brilliant boutique brand. This latest collection features t-shirts, pullovers, button-downs, jackets, a pair of boots and accessories alongside their typically decadent denims all of which look to be largely inspired by South-West United States of America imagery and themes.

My Advice To The Ambitious Livestyle Shopper: Target 1 or 2 of these pieces from this range, hit your Nike shoebox (NOTE: Or wherever it is that Y.O.U. stash your fetti ... lol) and prepare to drop a few pretty pennies on your selection(s). Suuuuuuuure, 99.9% of your friends won't know what you're wearing OR be able to somehow wrap their tiny brains around why Y.O.U. just dropped a month's rent on it, but isn't that part of the fun anyway? Exactly. If you're gonna fly, you had better fly high! Good shit!

PREVIEW: The mastermind JAPAN x Timberland 6 Inch Construction Boots Collabo For Spring/Summer 2012 = Velveeta® Cheese For The Win!

"For Spring/Summer 2012 Timberland has collaborated with mastermind JAPAN on their iconic and classic 6 Inch boot. The brand keeps the wheat colored classic upper, yet adds other nice details, including a metal logo on the heel, as well as a special zip closure system. The boots will release Spring/Summer 2012 in very limited quantities."

Information Courtesy Of: Highsnobiety.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Long live "Cheese" Timbs! Yes, the mastermind JAPAN x Timberland 6 Inch Construction Boots collabo for Spring/Summer 2012 proves to be a brilliant blend of rugged American classicism meets Tokyo, Japan nouveau riche pricey Punk cool that has resulted in a surprisingly dope pair of boots that only furthers celebrated Timberland's hood legacy for the ages.

I mention "surprisingly" for the mere fact that although I welcome the creative combination of contrasting aesthetic principles, I can be rather restrained with regard to ALL matters of good taste (NOTE: Especially when it comes to revamping a beloved Brooklyn corner boy staple such as the Timberland boot). Indeed, my consistently demanding standards dangle ever so perilously like the Sword of Damocles (NOTE: Google it!) above my crisp Mitchell & Ness snapback cap as a constant reminder of my responsibility to ALWAYS keep it fly. Fuck it! I've gotta do me.

In any event, the O.G. Timberland 6 Inch "Constructs" have been enjoying a late innings comeback in recent years that has seen this legendary symbol of American workwear reworked by some of contemporary streetwear's finest labels.

This latest surely über limited edition incarnation sees the standard wheat colored nubuck Timbs get the luxe laceup treatment courtesy of front zipper closures, twisted "medium brown" laces, "mastermind JAPAN" logos across the heel, "mastermind JAPAN" and "Timberland" each stamped on 1 of the pairs tongues and, the pièce de résistance, a silver pin relief of the signature mastermind "Jolly Roger" emblem affixed to the lower side portion of each boot replacing Timberland's iconic "Tree" logo. Me likey.

See, in 2011 every homebound newbie with a Niketalk log-in goes all kind of Hypebeast whenever some not-so-special-anymore-thanks-to-greedy-shortsighted-oversaturation pair of "special" edition Air Jordans and Foamposites drops but, on the real, niggas don't know about exclusive Timbs like that my nigga ... and it is precisely THAT lack of expert understanding that makes copping a pair of these ALL the more worthwhile! LOL. Spend that bank and walk the plank!

The Nike Air Max 90's (Wolf Grey/Blue) For Summer 2011 = A Good Look For All My 90's Crimeys!

"Take a look at the latest Air Max 90 set to release. No, this pair doesn’t feature Hyperfuse as some of the previous editions that we’ve reviewed had. Instead, these have a rather normal construction of mesh and leather. White, blue, and grey take the realms of the colorway, providing a nice blend for the overall look of the shoe. Nike Sportswear locations are expected to stock up on these in July so check for them there or Crooked Tongues."

Information Courtesy Of: Sneakerwatch.Com

Available Online (Starting In July) Here: Crookedtongues.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: As high minded and far reaching as my many interests are, deep down I'm really just a Brooklyn boy @ heart whom truly does appreciate the simple pleasures that life has to offer. The finer things don't necessarily have to be astronomically priced designer things. Case In Point: These Nike Air Max 90's (Wolf Grey/Blue) for Summer 2011.

Honestly, there's nothing new here (NOTE: Besides the colorway which is a dead ringer for the O.G. Brooklyn Dodgers jersey flag), however, as with many retros, it is precisely that understated nostalgiac familiarity which makes a Fulton Street/Albee Square Mall (R.I.P.) veteran such as myself reveal a brilliant Colgate® brushed slum gold FRONTS (NOTE: "Grills" baby? Word? I thought we cleared this up years ago. SMH. Y.O.U. must be fresh off the farm ma.) smile whenever I see kicks like these. Yup, I like walks in the park, quiet dinners, great conversation AND classic sneakers ... lol. This is Livestyle.

The Vans® Vault Mid Skool ‘77 x Priz Laced Sneakers = Vintage Vanguard.

"DQM released two interesting silhouettes from VANS Vault today: the Mid Skool ’77, and the Priz Laced. The ’77 has a decidedly old school feel, with a wrinkled leather upper and colorways straight out of the 1970′s. And while turning to a vintage aesthetic for inspiration is nothing new, Vans shows it has the decades of experience to do it right. The Priz Laced, while less “vintage,” is a timeless classic. It’s a slightly more constructed shoe than it’s counterparts, like the Classic or Era, but maintains the simplicity that is a core strength of Vans. The Priz combines a gum rubber sole, with a bone white canvas upper, finished off by brass eyelets, round laces, and a tonal Vans tag. Both great Summer options, and both available from DQM."

Information Courtesy Of: Freshnessmag.Com

Available Online Here: DQMNewyork.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: It's funny, although I L.O.V.E. the minimalistic classicism of Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers (NOTE: I own several pairs; from your basic version to their latest collaboration with Commes des Garcons.), I really can't fuck with Vans®. Their flat-footed emptiness just seems too unsupportive of my ankles in much the same way that a jealous, self-absorbed girlfriend can be passively unenthusiastic and dismissive of your greatest hopes and dreams. Smh. Look @ me slipping into pathetically needy emo-hyperbole.

And, therein lies my 2nd problem with Vans sneakers in 2011: When I think of Vans® today, I view this venerable brand through the smudged looking glass of a traumatized man beset by nightmarish images of Trendoid hipster douche bags happily running amuck in filthy pairs of Vans® with mangled laces. They've ruined it for me ... or so I thought. Whilst NOT entirely recovered from recent fashion horrors, my faith in this company has been somewhat restored with the release of the Vans® Vault Mid Skool ‘77 and the Priz Laced.

Sure, the mid-top model in this short range retail missile look a whole H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks of a lot like Nike Blazers, but I'ma let that slide. The gum rubber soles and decidedly more well constructed calfskin kicks in this vintage inspired series take a sturdy step into the future without sacrificing any of the harmonious integrity associated with this storied skateboard brand. Good shit!

The Limited Edition Nike Dunk 6.0 SE DeLorean DMC-12 Release = Run DMC-12 To The Future!

"Inspired by the DeLorean DMC-12, Nike 6.0 Introduces the Limited-Edition DeLorean Nike Dunk, a Fusion of Innovation and Style.

Influenced by the DMC-12’s aerodynamic design and trademark characteristics, Nike reinterpreted the car’s gull-wing doors on the shoe’s bottom eyestay while a matte silver upper recalls the automobile’s brushed stainless steel exterior—and features new no-sew construction.

The graphic window shades on the DMC-12’s rear appear as lines on the heel cup, underlining a DMC logo. Meanwhile, the Belfast stamp on the tongue is a nod to the Irish factory that originally produced the vehicle.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Sooooooooooooo, apparently, while I was battling my way out of the sweaty death grip of a ferocious 100.3 fever on Thanksgiving Day (NOTE: True story), in what must have been an affected state of delirium, I totally missed the release of these über limited edition Nike Dunk 6.0 SE DeLorean DMC-12 shoes. Whaaaaaaaaaat!? Do Y.O.U. know what that means Livestyle boys and girls? It means that I am now forced to match whits and wallet with commoners and greedy price gouging sellers alike on the world's favorite after market free-for-all: eBay. Smh. If only I could really go "Back To The Future" and cop these DeLorean DMC-12 car inspired gems @ their original $90 price tag when they dropped a few weeks back on Black Friday, November 26, 2010. *Cue Keith Olbermann Voice* "Time marches on!"

Comprised of a pair of Nike All Court Mid Supreme, in black or white leather, with reptilian accents on the iconic Swoosh and heel tab. In addition, the much sought after Destroyer Jacket also went through a make-over, with Stussy imprints and embroidery. Stussy – New York
176 Spring Street | Map
New York, NY 10012

Release Date: December 3rd (Friday)"

Information Courtesy Of: Freshnessmag.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things." ~ 1 Corinthians 13:11

Age is relative. Style is enduring. And, for both surfwear/streetwear pioneers Stussy and myself, our respectively shared 30th season of incorrigible freshness has been met with flowing rose' bubbles and dancing rose petals ... well, sometimes ... lol. Alas, while I too have many an adoring fan (NOTE: For which I am truly blessed), Livestyle is certainly no Stussy and, as such, no, Nike has NOT created a special capsule collection in my honor. I am working on it though. Maybe next year ... lol..

However, if your name happens to be Shawn Stussy, since March 2010, Y.O.U. have spent the better part of this year accepting gifts from a who's who of corner store coutouriers - including, but not limited to such global Downtown designer demigods as NEIGHBORHOOD, Bounty Hunter, Leilow, The Hideout, Slam Jam, Claw and HELLZ - whom each owe the Stussy brand some major back rent for living large on the land AND in the house that Stussy founded some 3 decades ago. Now, it's Nike's turn to pay tribute. That thee international sportswear company would genuflect before the altar of dope that is Stussy on their 30th birthday only further evinces the continuing importance of this groundbreaking label.

Sure, Nike's got the superstar athlete sponsorship game on lock, but, they know that gym rats aint the ones mortgaging their futures on overpriced dunks! Nope. So, when it's time to play ball with the cash register ruling "Hipster Class" (NOTE: My apologies to those of Y.O.U. that actually DO engage in reasonable clothing sizing and color coordination. My tastes often bring me within mere miles of planet Trendoid as well. Keep your guns up! I share your pain), Nike knows better than most just how to pander to everybody on que. Once again, them old Blue Ribbon Sports boys have put all of their Oregon Ducks (NOTE: GO DUCKS!) in a row and are set to release the uber limited edition Nike Sportswear for Stussy 30th Anniversary Collection this Friday, December 1, 2010.

Street culture dorks prepare to rejoice as this Courtney Love drug test (READ: DOPE!) collabo features an awesome NSW Destroyer varsity jacket, 2 "All Court-Mid" models available in either black or white with a snake print "Swoosh" and 3 tees celebrating not only Stussy's 30 years in business, but, also, 10 years of both brands working together. Hey, for being "Dirty 30", Stussy sure cleans up NICE! LOL. Holla @ ya boy in BK!

Jay ElecLeBronica @ ItsTheReal.Com = Hilarious! x A Special LiveStyle Commentary On Not Believing The Hype.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: No, I have NOT made any posts concerning the recent surprise signing of Jay Electronica to Jay-Z's fledgling Roc Nation record label. Now, I could chalk that up to not feeling the need to cover the story simply because I trust that Y.O.U. have done your due diligence and read about it @ 1 million other blogs, but that would be a red herring on my part. The GOD honest truth is that I simply don't really fuck with this dude ... point, blank, period.

As previously discussed, I believe Jay Electronica to be an overrated, albeit talented MC, who has benefited ridiculously from reverse-regionalism (NOTE: Basically, the strange phenomena that occurs when, mainly East Coast people, overreact to the fact that somebody from no further south than Virgina and, say, no further west than Chicago can actually spit and proceed to heap waaaaaaaaay too much praise on them like a blind greeter handing out lei's @ Honolulu International Airport).

Furthermore, in interviews, he's pretty much proven himself to be one of those always annoying "If-only-I-use-a-superfluous-amount-of-vocabulary-words-people-will-automatically-think-that-I'm-smart" kind of rappers that, when placed in front of a camera for a quick Q&A wastes no time in transforming into a psychobabble spewing idiot. Oh yeah, did I mention that he's currently under the spell of bohemian big booty enchantress Ms. Erykah Badu? Yeah, this is a recipe for disaster my nigga ... lol.

Anyway, this post, while about Jay-Z's newest acquisition, isn't really about Jay-Z's newest acquisition. See, them boys over @ ItsTheReal did it again, so this post is ALL about their parody of LeBron James's Nike "Rise" commercial starring ole trap jaw himself, Jay Elec-I'm-yawning-ica ... lol.

Hey, I can say 1 good thing about Badu's boo: At least he was savvy enough to NOT become another 1 of Diddy's permanently shelved tax-write offs ... and that's a GREAT start ... lol. Holla @ ya boy in BK!

The Limited Edition BAPE STORE LONDON® 8th Anniversary T-Shirt = A Rare Breed Indeed.

"October marks the eight year anniversary of BAPE STORE LONDON®, to commemorate the occasion A Bathing Ape will be releasing a special anniversary T-Shirt designed by Skatething. Located in Soho London, the design features one of the areas most iconic landmarks – the statue of Eros, with the phrase APEACIFIC APPAREL WORKS and of course the store’s address, all detailed within the Ape Head Silhouette, Available in either a White or Black colourway. This is one of the first times a Store anniversary T-Shirt has been designed exclusively by Skatething. The tee will be released in store and in the European online store on October 30th."

Information Courtesy Of: Highsnobiety.Com

Available @ The European BAPE Online Store Here: Eu.Bape.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: I have never been a fan of A Bathing Ape. It is important that Y.O.U. know this about me. Now, having been armed with such information concerning my less than favorable feelings towards BAPE is no reason to jump to conclusions; there is no conflict of interest in me covering Nigo's noteworthy releases.

The fact is that I actually like many of this brand's creations, I, however, simply take great exception to the fact that BAPE is basically just socially accepted bootlegging. BAPE has made quite a name for themselves by legitimizing the derivative nature of their collections through the practice of artificial scarcity and overpricing their goods. The kids like it. LOL. Whatever.

Any who, when not completely ripping off Nike, BAPE does occasionally offer up some uncut dope to be taken in vain ... lol. Case In Point: The brand new BAPE STORE LONDON® 8th Anniversary T-Shirt release.

To commemorate the Soho, London Bathing Ape outpost's 8 years of Downtown dominance, BAPE art director SKATETHING took total control and created this limited edition top. The back of the t-shirt prominently features a beautiful rendition of the Statue of Eros in Piccadilly Circus, London - the bust of this winged archer of L.O.V.E. (NOTE: Think Cupid) being one of London's most iconic landmarks mate! Very nice. Needless to say, while taking a backseat to the Statue of Eros design, the ubiquitous BAPE Ape Head logo makes it's always special appearance with the phrase "APEACIFIC APPAREL WORKS" and the store’s address, all detailed within the company's signature silhouette.

Be advised, this über limited edition t-shirt drops @ the London store and online tomorrow morning and should be all gone before the sun sets on the sale! Make sure your mouse has batteries. Man your battle stations!

The Lebron James "Rise" Nike Commercial = When Y.O.U. Point The Finger @ Me, 4 Other Fingers Point Right Back @ Y.O.U.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Y.O.U. think Charles "I Never Won A Ring" Barkley and the rest of the peanut gallery are listening? Sure, the agonizingly protracted melodrama surrounding Lebron James's "Decision" to leave the Cleavland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat and the ESPN T.V. special announcing said migration was a pure dick head move, but, really, who fucking cares!? The long awaited 2010-2011 NBA Basketball season starts tomorrow and, once again, the genius marketing team over @ Nike just set it off right with this dope commercial. Way to put things in perspective, huh? Good shit!

Helloooooo Ladies: Feast Your Eyes On The Limited Edition Va$htie Kola x Jordan Brand "Violette" Retro II's.

The First Lady of LiveStyle Says: I hate to say it but I am a bit jealous. I mean, who wouldn't be? The undisputed queen of the global "Downtown" scene, Va$htie Kola, just knocked out a major collab with Nike's Jordan Brand! That shoulda been me! lol. In due time though. Freind and fellow Livestyle family member, Rob Young (NOTE: Shhhhhhhhhhhhh! He's Chris's cousin AND Va$htie's manager), said he would never deny me of anything I ever wanted in life and I'm gonna hold him to that. LOL! K. Enough with the insiders. Back to the matter at foot ... lol.

Thankfully, Va$htie handled this one in a million gift from sneaker heaven with a connoisseur's appreciation for the classics and a tasteful eye for detail resisting any Hipsterific urge to go all paintball-game-meets-fashion color collage crazy on us! LOL. No, instead, the talented Ms. Kola opted to soften up this timeless silhouette with a very feminine (NOTE: But NOT in a faggy way ... lol) simple lavender accented by deep-purple colorway. These obviously über limited edition Violette themed Retro Jordan II's are scheduled to hit select Tier-0 account retail locations October 2nd.

Ok everybody, gather 'round, it's confession time. I, Aisha Ali, have never really been a fan of the II's. Wait! Hear me out. I always thought that they made my feet (NOTE: Which ARE small, thank Y.O.U. very much ... lol) look waaaaaaaaay too chunky; but that's just me. I know I'm not the only one tired of wearing my 4 inch stilettos. I'm sure some of Y.O.U. LiveStyle Ladies can pull them off!

Good luck getting your hands on these bad boys though, cuz I know hundreds of Va$htie's "downtown sweethearts"/cult followers will be waiting in line bright and early, from sea-to-shining-sea, like savages the morning that this dope girl fresh delivery drops! You've been warned.

Signing Off...

The Nike Sportswear (NSW) Spring 2011 Destroyer Varsity Jacket = Official School Yard Bully Fresh For 2-Oh-11.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Apparently, fellow lifestyle blogger and trend forecaster Sir Marcus Troy of the eponymous Marcustroy.Com, not only has friends in high places but, also, fly places as well. How else could one explain his being hand picked, as if by some cosmic consent, to personally brandish this Nike Sportswear (NSW) Spring 2011 Varsity Jacket.

This bad boy features your traditional high school varsity jacket silhouette of wool body and leather arms both of which are emblazoned with the Roman Numerals for "24" (Kobe!) "XXIV" between the shoulders on the back of this piece as well as the words "Battle" down the left sleeve. Additionally, the words "Know" (NOTE: Scripted in side of an "Ace Of Spades" symbol) and "Originate" appear as a nice "How Do Ya Do?" applique on the chest. Niiiiiiiice. Oh yeah, did I mention that Nike also customized this jacket for the homie by laser etching Marcus Troy's new logo right above the cuff of the right sleeve too!? This son of a gun just scored a true 1-of-1 from the good folks @ NSW, huh? Cool.

This year I promise that I have to take this blog to the next level and give Y.O.U. a bit more of my personal exclusives ... bet that! I most definitely need this certainly limited edition jacket in an XL ASAP! Good shit!

The Nike Air Force 1 Low "Brooklyn Borough Edition" Supreme I/O Quickstrike Release = Yes, I Am A Brooklyn Bigot And Proud Of It!

"Nike introduced their latest quickstrike pack designed by the famous DJ Clark Kent. Clark Kent as most know is the only one out there that can make the Air Force 1 appealing again. His brilliant ability to blend neat colorways into each other and match up signature patterns has helped Nike revitalize the Air Force 1. The Brooklyn Edition Nike Air Force 1 Low Supreme I/O is one of the most sought after pairs part of the pack. The ‘Five Boroughs’ pack contains 5 different models representing the five boroughs of New York City. Each pair represents each borough properly!

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Every so often, there comes a day when we are each forced to face the cold, unforgiving mirror of reality and confront our own ugly prejudices. For me, today was such a day.

Soooooooooooo, yeah, yesterday I caught wind of the Nike Air Force 1 Quickstrike "5 Borough" Pack and I wasn't really into it. I mean, not only have I long discontinued my membership in the NetJets® Nike Air Force 1 fractional ownership program, but, too add insult to indifference, all I saw were the Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx "Borough Edition" releases. Who fucking cares? However, upon waking up bright and early this magnificent morning to check my email, I was excited to find that the homie Barris @ Osneaker.Com had sent me the complete release information for the Nike Air Force 1 Low "Brooklyn Borough Edition" Supreme I/O from this Quickstrike package ... now we're talking ... lol.

While I can remain very much objective concerning matters of a less intimate nature (NOTE: Like, say, for instance, Global Warming ... lol), with regard to my beloved home turf, I make absolutely no attempt to hide or apologize for my bias ... Brooklyn all day! Fellow Brooklyn native and friend of Livestyle, the world famous DJ Clark Kent, designed this entire über limited edition Tier 0 collection and, without a doubt, put that extra hometown L.O.V.E. into the "B.rooklyn E.dition" Air Force 1.

Featuring a wool and leather blended upper and a chenille (NOTE: Think high school varsity jacket "Letterman" patch material) signature "Swoosh", these black and plum colored bad boys might just own the "Athletic" bracket of this Fall's fly footwear league. Y.O.U. see it. Holla @ ya boy in BK!

The Bo Jackson Nike Air Trainer 91 Retros = MCMXCI Fly!

"NIKE AIR TRAINER 91

The last of Bo Jackson’s signature cross-trainers, the Air Trainer 91 is back in town. A mean and muscular model from what was a golden era for the Swoosh, the 91 features a unique cross-strap across the forefoot plus neoprene lining for when the heat is on. Available in this original stone, gold and black make-up, you can pick up a pair right now from Premier."

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Just when Y.O.U. thought that Nike had completely plundered their archives and exhausted their entire back catalogue of classic kicks, they dust off yet another rare gem and remind us ALL why they are the past, present and future king of sneakers. Yes, the Bo Jackson Nike Air Trainer 91 is now ready for an encore.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, 1991 was quite a turning point for me. The child who crushed hastily discarded empty crack vials under his feet playing freeze tag on the playground was beginning to evolve. My innocence conspired with my natural born curiosity and gave way to a world of new experiences - some good, some bad, but all unforgettable. In any event, as life outside of my parents cozy home beckoned, so too did all the trappings that fast money brings.

I was far too young to drive OR afford a Mercedes Benz 190E/Volkswagon Jetta/Nissan Maxima (NOTE: Preferably with a rag top, chrome detailing and "A Touch Of Class" elegantly scripted on the side ... lol), so that was a wrap. Guess what? Dookie gold rope chains weren't in the budget either (NOTE: Although, in a somewhat sad yet uniquely childlike imaginative way, my friends and I would fashion crude fake fronts - NOT "Grillz" - from gold candy foil ... lol. Fuck it! We had fun), so that was out the window. Sooooooooooooo, that left a young aspiring fly guy the clothes game - a field that I came to dominate @ an early age and have remained @ the head of for a decade and some change.

The Bo Jackson Nike Air Trainer 91 were an advanced acquisition for a young Chris Live AKA Shaker and I cherished them dearly. Heavy toothbrush action for the soles trying hard as fuck to keep the delicate nubuck leather uppers from getting wet. So, yeah, basically, I need a pair of these 2010 retros in my life.

Although these joints were previously retroed back in 2004 in the black/white colorway, this just released stone/gold/black colorway is my absolute favorite of the 2 O.G. versions. Y.O.U. gotta L.O.V.E. it! Holla @ ya boy in BK!

The Lafayette x DJ Clark Kent x Paulie's (Vinnie's Styles) 7th Anniversary Collabo T-Shirt For Lafayette = 3 The Fly Way.

"Lafayette recently celebrated their 7th anniversary and as usual, they have gotten together with many of the brands they stock. More details on the other collaborations will be revealed later but the first to drop are the t-shirts made in conjunction with DJ Clark Kent and Paulie's, an inhouse brand from Vinnys Styles. A simple typographic graphic is the result and the colorway draws inspiration from the previously released DJ Clark Kent sneakers. There is a black body and white body prepared each with Lafayette logo in neon green font and gray shadow screen printed on the front. Back neck features the Paulie's logo and left sleeve is printed with DJ Clark Kent logo in the same neon green and gray colorways. One more note for those who are feeling these designs is that a cap version of these looks to drop as well soon. Stay tuned for more information."

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: As my girlfriend has recently been feeding me a steady diet of HBO On Demand preserved episodes from season 2 of the hit series "True Blood", forgive me if that show's fantabulously gay character, "Lafayette" ("Yass bitches!"), instantly came to mind upon 1st seeing this shirt. I mean, I thought this was some kind of fan paraphernalia gone mainstream. Thankfully, it is not. For I would have been loath to support HBO's continued dedication to the emasculation of the Black man.

Anyway, indeed, the good news here is that this offering is actually the result of preeminent Japanese streetwear label and preferred "Land Of The Rising Sun" Hipster haberdashers, Lafayette, hopping a trans-continental flight and hooking up with Brooklyn's very own DJ Clark Kent and Paulie's (NOTE: Vinnie's Styles in-house brand) to celebrate their 7th anniversary with these special limited edition t-shirts.

Inspired by the simple yet striking colorway of an earlier sneaker collabo between Lafayette and DJ Clark Kent (NOTE: And also a perfect match for a good O.G. pair of Nike Air Max 95's) this commemorative t-shirt is available in either black or white and is emblazoned with a stylized "Lafayette" signature logo in neon green and gray shadow screen print on the front. Of course the standard Brooklyn bum rush is in full effect as well as the back neck and left sleeve prominently feature both the Paulie's and DJ Clark Kent logos respectively. Simply dope. Chop it up Hibachi style and get Y.O.U. 1 homie. Good shit!
