The Maybach Sunglasses Collection = Now Y.O.U. Too Can Have Rick Ross "Rozay" Vision!

"We don't want to say it, but we must: Maybach is probably doing better with its lifestyle accessories than it is with its cars. And with some undeniably attractive options on its designer menu, you don't need to go far in search of an explanation. The line has been joined by a range of ten spectacle frames and eight different sunglasses, produced under license by German optics company IVKO.

Details on the hand-made glasses are as lavish as those found inside a Maybach 62, with piano-lacquered wood, natural horn, carbon fiber and leather-trimmed arms, titanium, 18-carat white, yellow, and rose gold frames. Lenses come from those quality glassmakers over at Zeiss.

For something more bespoke you can give your shades the coachbuilt treatment with Maybach's Individual Collection, which "will cater to various special requests and customization choices and features 18K carat gold details." Sadly, there still won't be enough room here to add a refrigerator or humidor, but you might find space for rhinos and emus to make the contributions. You'll be able to purchase them come October, when the ready-to-wear range lands at retail."

Information Courtesy Of: Luxist.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: According to the official press release for the Maybach Sunglasses Collection, "As with the distinguished interior appointments in the Maybach luxury saloons, only the highest-quality materials are used to create the luxury eyewear", and, from the looks of things, one would be hard pressed to refute such hefty claims.

From fine piano-lacquered wood, carbon fiber, natural horn and leather blanketed arms to the usage of such metals as titanium and 18-carat white, yellow and rose gold, these good money sunnies are the perfect accoutrement for distinguished Maybach owners of mode ... or merely those whom just aspire to be. Expect this full accessories line of 10 luxe lenses and 8 fancy-shmancy eyeglass frames to hit retail this October.

Yup, I guess we ALL know what to get Rick Ross for "Secret Santa" this Christmas! LOL. Good shit!

Oliver Peoples History from Oliver Peoples on Vimeo.

"Oliver Peoples

Oliver Peoples is a retailer and maker of eyewear begun by Larry and Dennis Leight in Los Angeles in 1987. Many early designs were retro-inspired. The brand gained mainstream popularity by the end of the 1980s, largely thanks to an article in the July 10 1989 issue of "Time" magazine. Founded in 1987, Oliver Peoples began with the introduction of a retro-inspired eyewear collection created by renowned designer Larry Leight. Headquartered in Los Angeles, where Hollywood and fashion converge, Oliver Peoples now has seven retail stores located in Los Angeles (2), New York City (3), South Coast Plaza (1) and Tokyo (1). Oliver Peoples eyewear is also available at fine optical and specialty stores on six continents in more than 45 countries and territories."

The Persol® PO2953S Tortoise Shell Sunglasses = Throw Shade If Y.O.U. Must.

Available Online Here: Dreamshades.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: After a drawn out Spring season that has pump-faked with 90 degree weather since April, I feel confident in saying that Summer is almost officially here. As I type this missive, I stare out upon a bustling cityscape full of green trees, blossoming folliage and more than a few confused people whom, much like myself, look as if Summer 2010 kind of snuck up on them ... lol.

We've ALL been here before.

We wear lighter materials that get stretched out and lighter colors that can be magnets for more than a few BBQ sauce and cranberry juice and vodka stains throughout the course of the backyard party season. Sure, Y.O.U. wash your threads - you're civilized - but come September, Y.O.U. tuck away your lounge gear and, by the time that Y.O.U. retrieve them the next year, 95% of your Summer layout is a dusty, wrinkled mess of ill-fitting garments that one could hardly fathom having ever worn in the 1st place. Yes, especially for the fellas, Summer clothing can have a ridiculously short lifespan.

While I shall remain forever partial to disposable basic white t-shirts for my Summer stock, there are, however, some long term fashion investments that a man of mode should make - a good pair of sunnies is 1 such stellar purchase. As always, I like to fly a middle finger in the face of feckless trends in favor of pieces that exhibit enduring style and recently these brilliant Persol® PO2953S Tortoise Shell Sunglasses caught my eye.

Although I L.O.V.E. the tried-and-true "Aviator" style frame, lately I have been looking to experiment with some different eyewear silhouettes. The square, medium build of these frames look like they could work for the kid, but, what really struck me was the classic tortoise shell pattern.

The amber hued, intricate detail of the tortoise shell print has always looked all college-professory to me, but the sleek frame on these polarized lenses accompanied by exquiste accents along the hinges make these Italian made bad boys all contemporary Milan. Intrinsic class and elegance indeed. Persol® might just be new go-to sunnies brand yall ... Y.O.U. heard it here 1st! Gucci is good, shit, @ times even great, but Y.O.U. should never want to look like everybody else in the hood. Trust me, you've spent $154 on a lot worse. Explore more.

The Limited Edition Dolce & Gabbana Gold Edition Sunglasses Have Got The Midas Touch.

"Italian fashion stars Dolce & Gabbana have come out with an exclusive new collection of Gold Edition sunglasses and eyeglasses plated in pure 18-carat gold. Priced at $580 per pair, the limited edition aviator-style shades and specs feature a mix of different materials for the temples, enhanced by the Dolce & Gabbana logo engraved in the same color. Made in Italy, the sunglasses feature polarized glass, and a certificate of authenticity comes with each pair of glasses attesting to the originality, design and quality and the use of 18-carat gold. Each pair is presented in its own jewelry case featuring a plaque with the words "Dolce &Gabbana Gold Edition" and containing two tiny side drawers to hold a cleaning cloth and certificate of authenticity. Inside there is a semi-rigid glasses case in black leather, decorated with a tiny plaque and logo. The Gold Edition models are available at ILORI Luxury Sunglass boutiques."

Available Online Here: ILoristyle.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: So, who needs new sunglasses during the Winter? I do. Call it arrogance fueled by elegance or a semi-practical coping mechanism to combat S.easonal A.ffected D.isorder, but, either way, I want these shades. Yes, the masters of modern classicism, Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana, have conspired together to drop these stunning Fort Knox framed 18-carat Gold Edition Sunglasses.

These limited edition sunnies are available with both prescription and sun lenses and are thoughtfully accompanied by a C.ertificate O.f A.uthenticity attesting to the originality, design and quality and the use of 18-carat gold. Additionally, I trust that the hoity-toity jewelry box (with 2 tiny drawers for the cleaning cloth and the C.O.A.) that these locs come in will make the perfect stash spot for the upwardly mobile hustler whom has outgrown the standard Nike shoebox ... lol.

I mean, honestly, with gold nearing $1,000 an ounce, the MSRP of $580 on these spekkies aint half b-a-d ... shiiiiiiiiiit, one might even consider it an investment ... lol. You've gotta L.O.V.E. my retail rationale! This is Livestyle.

The "Yoko Ono" P'8479 Sunglasses By Porsche Design = Wrapper's Delight!

"Back in her heyday, Yoko Ono was almost never seen without her shades on. And these were them: The original sunglasses from Porsche Design. She wore them on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, she wore them at press conferences, she wore them during recording sessions and when she was on vacation. She's still wearing them, even though they haven't been made in years. But now the German automaker's product design studio is bringing them back as the P'8479, complete with visible gold-tone screws and Beta-Titanium frame. Make no mistake about it, the 80s are back."

Information Courtesy Of: Luxist.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Loyal long time Livestyle readers are quite familiar with the complete and utter disdain that I have for retrosexuals and their shallow and unimaginative co-option of 1980's pop-culture. To be sure, I have never issued a formal demurral to 80's culture - that decade was fucking awesome - no, my righteous indignation is reserved for the gimmicky consumption and Day-Glo® colored regurgitation of bygone trends. I mean, from looking @ these Trendoids an outsider might be lead to believe that these acid washed "me-and-my-girlfriend-share-the-same-clothes" Sisterhood of the Traveling Skin Tight Pants types are cool, when, clearly, they are actually sad soulless voids bereft of any meaningful creativity. Ehhhhhhh, I could ride on these lames for days, but, alas, I have more important business to attend to.

If forced to say 1 good thing about Hipsters I would concede that their limited knowledge of the past means that they pillage so liberally often leaves some great old school gems relatively unscathed ... they simply don't know enough to ruin everything. This holds true for luxury brands such as MCM and vintage Iceberg (NOTE: Pre the whole watered down "History" label. My collection is already heavy homie. What Y.O.U. know about the immaculately detailed 1992 The Lady & The Tramp Drive-In-Movie knit? Yeah, nothing ... lol.) and, now, I believe this will ultimately be the case with the iconic "Yoko Ono" P'8479 Sunglasses By Porsche Design.

Founded in 1972 by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche - designer of the legendary Porsche 911 model and grandson of Porsche Motors founder Dr. Ing Ferdinand Porsche - the Porsche Design Studios and their racing inspired, technologically advanced creations quickly became synonymous with top tier style. Sure, they released a string of collections encompassing everything from pens to watches, but, their most popular pieces were their "Lady-Gaga-Before-Lady-Gaga" meets Magnum P.I. sunnies (NOTE: Original models regularly go off on eBay for hundreds of dollars). Yes, the L.O.V.E. of the late, great John Lennon's life was never seen without her signature shades! Hey, did I mention that Kool Moe Dee rocked a pair too? Wild Wild West!

Anyway, the reintroduction of the "Yoko Ono" P'8479 Porsche Design Sunglasses are a rare welcome addition to the already flooded vintage market. I'ma say this though, the minute that I see more than 3 people in 1 work week wearing these sunnies it will be a wrap for these wrap around shades homie! True story.

The Summer 2009 Mosley Tribes x Crooks & Castles "Castellano" Sunglasses = Santo Trafficante Jr. Approved.

Avialable Online Here: Karmaloop.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Have Y.O.U. guys ever watched the 1997 movie "Donnie Brasco"? Huh? Well, @ this juncture, I will simply have to accept your silence as a "Yes" and proceed with the rest of this entry. Ok, so there's a scene towards the end of the film where heavyweight champion FBI agent/rat Joseph "Donnie Brasco" D. Pistone gets his hands on a federally confiscated yacht and, through his captain "Lefty" Ruggiero, earns an audience with the boss of Florida, Santo Trafficante Jr. Man, listen, that old head Trafficante had style - from the roof to the boot - however, it is his obnoxiously chunky sunnies in particular that remain resplendent in my material world travelling mind. Très 70's chic!

Released earlier this season, the Summer 2009 Mosley Tribes x Crooks & Castles "Castellano" Sunglasses convey that exact oft romanticized official O.G. Mafia mystique. Reminiscent of the classic Cazal silhouette and accented with gold or silver inlays (depending on which colorway Y.O.U. cop) these limited edition oversized thick acetate framed sunnies are clearly good money. Already spotted on the likes of Jay-Z and Fabolous, these shades are perfect for those individuals whom wanna stay low from the glow, but, still wanna bubble in the cut like peroxide. Nice metaphor, right? Yeah, never forget that I am world famous and accredited MC 1st my nigga. LOL. Good shit.

Helloooooo Ladies: The Louis Vuitton Accessories Fall 2009 Collection = Legends Of The Fall.

Information Courtesy Of: Stylebyme.Net

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Sure to bring an incandescent glow to the cherub-like faces of 5th Avenue fashionphiles come Autumn, this sneak peek of the Louis Vuitton Accessories Fall 2009 Collection looks to maintain Marc Jacobs's brilliant material marathon win streak as Creative Director of the legendary French luxury malletier.

Featuring everything from signature scarves and quilted handbags to chunky bangles and super sized sunnies, Louis Vuitton continues to successfully strut the oh so slender catwalk between stylish brand recognition and shameless merchandising. I mean, I would complain, but, really, who would listen? LOL.

There is a good reason that the most counterfeited brand in the land still manages to rank high in the minds of both aspirational consumers and high society alike. The key word here is quality my friends. Nobody does it better. Message To My Livestyle Ladies: Start stacking that paper for the Louis Vuitton Accessories Fall 2009 Collection right about NOW! LOL. Holla @ ya boy in BK!

BONUS:

I would like to believe that we have developed a relationship based on the utmost confidence and trust here @ Livestyle. That having been said, please accept and, if indeed possible, enjoy my inclusion of this Nate Dogg and Warren G. "G-Funk" era classic "Nobody Does It Better" ... yeah, I said it, CLASSIC. Respect my authoritay! LOL. Good shit.

The American Apparel x Sebastian Tellier Limited Edition Collabo T-Shirt Has That Special Je Ne Sais Quoi AKA Why Ask Why?

"American Apparel got together with French musician Sebastien Tellier to collaborate on a t-shirt. The t-shirt comes in mens and womens sizes and comes with the musicians “Sexuality” album. You can buy the American Apparel x Sebastien Tellier T-Shirt here."

Information Courtesy Of: Highsnobiety.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Seriously, I don't know how I became so instantly enamored with this t-shirt. I mean, I know that this American Apparel x Sebastien Tellier collabo is a belated celebration and/or some 2nd chance promo for this French dance floor demigod's critically acclaimed "Sexuality" album and that's cool. My only problemo is that the image on the t-shirt looks like a police artist composite sketch of some West Village rapist who was cryogenically frozen in the 1980's, has recently been thawed out, escaped from a lab and now preys on hipsters @ night behind his too-cool-for-school Blu Blocker© retrosexual sunnies ... lol.

That having been said, what does the fact that I still like this shirt say about me? Good question. However, I would like to think that it actually says more about the uncut dopeness of this limited edition American Apparel x Sebastien Tellier collabo t-shirt.

I don't know who Sebastien Tellier is, but, this "smedium" top is good money. Hmmmmmmm, after further inspection though, the sleeves are type young ... I'd better donate this to my girl's my-boyfriend's-clothes-that-no-longer-fit-him-so-I-now-wear-them-to-bed charity foundation ... lol. Good shit.

The Claw Money x Sunglass Hut Sunglasses Collabo = Sharp Enough To Claw Your Face Off.

Information Courtesy Of: Highsnobiety.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Is Claw Money's brilliant body of black book and brick wall beautifying work comparable to that of the late, great Claude Monet. No way. No how. LOL. However, this talented New York City spray paint princess turned darling of the Hipsterific downtown streetwear scene has, in her own right, become quite the celebrated artist and clothing designer around these parts.

Ever eager to tap the "streets" and mine for retail relevance, "creative collaboration" has become the new rallying cry for companies that refuse to die a lonely and obscure pop culture death. That having been said, these uber limited edition Claw Money x Sunglass Hut sunglasses are right on time.

To commemorate their new "Social Sun" in-store interactive photobooth concept, Sunglass Hut teamed up with Claw Money to design a pair of limited edition sunnies to be given out exclusively to guests as party favors @ their private launch event @ the Sunglass Hut Herald Square store next Tuesday, May 19th.

Basically, Y.O.U. need an invite to get right with these shades homie. It's either that or claw it out on eBay in an online turf war where bids act as bullets and sharpshooters, like me and my brother Niketown, use eSnipe to ensure victory! LOL. See Y.O.U. on the battlefield.

The Spring/Summer 2009 Louis Vuitton Socoa Damier Sunnies = This Is Chess, Not Checkers Boys x Girls.

Available Online Here: Louisvuitton.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: If the kid Fresh from the 1994 semi-classic film of the same name was truly "fresh", then, he would own a pair of these Spring/Summer 2009 Louis Vuitton Socoa Damier Sunglasses.

Whilst I do L.O.V.E. the classic "LV" monogram print, much like the Gucci "GG" print, wearing an outfit festooned with either logo generally comes off looking like nouveau riche "amateur night" ... and nobody wants that ... lol.

No, Livestyle is an advocate of affluent sensibilities coupled with plain old good taste and, as such, these exclusive Damier Photochromic Lenses certainly fit the bill - or the grill as it were ... lol. Available in Silver and/or Gold colorways and prepared to Louis Vuitton's exceptional standards, these sunnies are good money in any currency homie. Good shit.

Ralph Lauren Polo Modern Aviator Sunglasses = Get Your Pilot License.

Available Online Here: Ralphlauren.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: With Spring upon us and the struggle between Winter's fading freeze and it's inevitable thaw occuring across most of the nation, it is high time that Y.O.U. start getting your Summer wear affairs in order.

I haven't always been much of a sunglasses afficianado, however, as I have gotten older, I have begun to appreciate the benefits of having on hand a range of lenses to complement my various moods and outfits.

Aside from my rare and very vintage Versace gold trimmed the-future-as-imagined-by-a-gay-Italian-man glasses (Y.O.U. have got to see them to believe them), most of my sunnies are different takes on the classic "aviator" style and, as such, these brand new Ralph Lauren Polo Modern Aviator Sunglasses are clearly good money in my book. Oooooooh, they've got the subtle, but, still there "POLO" signature logo on both the upper left lens and the arms too! Yeah, I'm sold ... which means that they will soon be sold to me! LOL. Good shit.

HUF x Mosley Tribes Wayfarers Are Way Flyer Than Your Average Sunnies.

"We’re big fans of both these brands, so picking these up was a no brainer, great style with that wayfarer edge."

Information Courtesy Of: Limitedhype.Com

Available Online Here: Hufsf.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Thanks to Jay-Z and Kanye West, the classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer style of sunglasses has crept back into favor with forward thinking fashionistas across the globe. Yeah, Y.O.U. know this design well; think: Tom Cruise ala "Risky Business".

Even though I haven't been a huge fan of Wayfarer sunnies since I was like 8 years old, this limited edition HUF x Mosley Tribes collabo is hardbody karate for the people. They've been out for a minute, but now is the time to cop my nig. I like the "H" HUF logo emblem on the arm of the glasses and the ever so slight twist on the overall shape of the frames. I mean, you'll never be as cool as "The Blues Brothers" in these, but even a great pair of sunnies can only be expected to do but so much ... lol.

Tom Ford Pavlos Aviator Sunnies For Those Gettin' Money.

"So I guess you’ve already heard Tom Ford is dressing James Bond (note: the new 007 flick is not up to Casino Royale standards). What you don’t know is that even Bond doesn’t have these limited edition aviators. Carved out out ebony wood, with handmade Zeiss lenses and gold trim."

Information Courtesy Of: Limitedhype.Com

Available online Here: Net-A-Porter.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS:  There are very few things cooler than a good pair of sunglasses facing the bright sun while the brisk winds whip against your Canada Goose Down/Moncler/Northface in a vain attempt to impose it's Autumn authority and Winter will on your well insulated body.  Y.O.U. aint going nowhere and neither is legendary contemporary American designer Tom Ford.  Since breathing life back into the illustrious Gucci name and buttressing the walls of the iconic fashion house with his creations starting in 1994, Tom Ford has gone on to continue to out perform his competitors.

Yes, Tom Ford just finished overseeing the entire design direction for the new 007 Quantum Of Solace film, but he's still got some tricks up his silk sleeves and these Pavlos Aviators are just 1 of them. Act Y.O.U. know because, now, Y.O.U. do ... lol. What's good?

Monday, October 27, 2008

Tom Ford 007 "Quantum Of Solace" Lenses.

"Tom Ford has designed the “James Bond 007″ sunglasses. The sunglasses are not only part of his Spring/Summer 2009 collection, but James Bond is actually wearing them in "Quantum Of Solace" as well. The sunglasses are an upgrade from the classic flight sunglasses and are available in two colorways."

Colette already has the Tom Ford “James Bond 007″ sunglasses in stock.

Information Courtesy Of: Selectism.Com

Available Online Here: Colette.Fr

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: While I have not heard, and highly doubt, that these new Tom Ford 007 Sunglasses are equipped to perform any spy-like tricks like deconstructing and turning into lock pick tools or, perhaps even more useful, emitting knockout gas into the faces of unsuspecting "birds", I still fancy these sunnies.

From what I can see, these look like your classic aviators except the frame appears to be slightly more rigid and there is no secondary bridge over the nose. Does that make a big difference? Y.O.U. should see me right now ... I am shrugging my shoulders ... lol. Basically, I can't call it. All I know is that, for a blockbuster movie tie in item, these sunnies are good money.

Tom Ford also did a masterful job designing the suits for "Quantum Of Solace" and reinterpreting the consummate James Bond aesthetic. Now, if only Tom Ford (an incredible designer with a 95% Livestyle rating) would stop making furry mukluks for men ... some shit will simply never work homie ... lol.

Claw Money Aviator "Sunnies" = Good Money.

Available Online Here: Colette.Fr

Visit Claw Money Online Here: Clawmoney.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Claw Money is a veteran of the NYC graffiti scene who has managed to make a successful transition from bombing brick walls to tagging closets, bodies and faces with fly merchandise. Oh yeah, did I mention that I'm talking about a girl? That's right, Claudia X____________________ (Last name withheld because the Vandal Squad still cares about this shit ... lol) AKA Ms. Claw Money has made quite a name for herself in the threads business recently and some of her most popular pieces are her "sunnies" (NOTE: Thank Rachel Zoe for making me use that word ... lol).

At 1st sight, I dismissed some of Claw Money's early eyewear creations as over priced vintage Cazal knockoffs, however (eventhough Y.O.U. can clearly tell where she derived much of her inspiration for these aviators from), she has since come into her own - so yeah, I fuxs with these new aviators hardbody. Claw Money's overall collection is rather tiny, but she does have some joints for the guys and the dolls ... give her a minute, shorty's on her grind. Let this be a lesson to my female readers: Ladies take your time, take your time and do it right! Holla @ ya boy in BK!
