CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Rather than give Y.O.U. the misty eyed musings of a child blessed enough to have been fortified on golden era Hip Hop and all that it encompassed, I will simply state that no matter how many times Lupe Fiasco attempts to smudge the direct lineage between himself and A.T.ribe C.alled Q.uest, there would be NO him without them. The same goes for Drake, Kid Cudi or any of the current crop of emo Twinkies®-filled rappers whom trade on angst and, while certainly easy for someone like me to poke fun @, do mostly expand the emotional vocabulary of Hip Hop for the better.
See, before there was "Gangster Rap" or "Backpack Rap" there was only Hip Hop. The thugs from back then know the seminal A.T.C.Q. album "Midnight Marauders" back-to-front AND can wax equally nostalgic about how Rakim Allah was able to finesse "Mahogany". This is all OUR street culture. Universal. Real recognize real. I can't wait for this documentary to drop! Respect the architects.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: On the sparkling Christian Louboutin heels of yesterday's "My Dark Twisted Fantasy" album leak false alarm, Mr. West, Mr. West has once again taken to the internet to keep the buzz for his upcoming opus @ a staggering gazzilion watts with the release of the Pete Rock co-produced "The Joy".
In accordance with the recent rash of posse cut incidents, Yeezy has once again enlisted an all-star team to tackle this weeks installment of his immensely popular "G.O.O.D. Friday" series. Now, lining up the talents of the aforementioned Pete Rock, Jay-Z, Charlie WilsonANDCurtis Mayfield (NOTE: Channeled via sample, of course ... lol) all on 1 soulfully hedonistic head nodding track is an amazing feat in and of itself, however, the real joy here is that, although listed as a feature, Kid Cudi is barely noticeable on this song. Everybody wins! LOL. G.O.O.D. Music is here! Cheers!
CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: In this priceless 37 second video clip, Sean Price shows what happens when keeping it real goes 110% right! Fuck the dumb shit ... quality needs to be acknowledged and praised and pure unadulterated wackness needs to be called out and ostracized. Not that I've ever liked anything that Kid Cudi has ever attempted to pawn off as "music", but, in light of the steaming pile of crap that he took on the "Christian Dior Denim Flow" song released earlier today, this video couldn't be more timely. Brooklyn niggas don't bite their tongue. Salute this man!
CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS:Awwwwwwwwwwww! Kanye WestDOES still L.O.V.E. us! LOL.
After throwing a minor temper tantrum earlier this week over the unscrupulous blogger(s) responsible for leaking some of his unfinished music, Mr. West, Mr. West put the entire internet on "time out" and revoked our "G.O.O.D. Friday" privileges for the duration of 1 week. Apparently, we had all become too spoiled by this brilliant beatmakers benevolence and needed to be taught the egregious error of our ways. The great Martin Louis The King Jr. shall not be mocked! Hopefully we've all learned from this near tragedy. LOL! Alright, all jokes aside though, I am grateful that the homie Kanye West reconsidered and lifted the ban this afternoon to release "Christian Dior Denim Flow".
As usual, Yeezy keeps hitting us with that G.O.O.D. old posse cut combo - featuring some artists that I really L.O.V.E. to hear and others that I ... well ... ummmmmmm ... don't wanna hear so much of ... lol.
The biggest surprise here is Lloyd "Laryngitis Fo' Life" Banks appearing on this haute couture track. The biggest disappointment is whatever the fuck Kid Cudi vomits @ the end of this track. It is what it is. Enjoy!
CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Yes, Kanye West continues to make G.O.O.D. on his promise to lace the internet with new music on a weekly basis. For his latest installment, Reverend Martin "Louis The King" Jr. invited the entire holy recording assemblage that is the G.O.O.D. Music family out to break bread with him on "G.O.O.D. Friday". So what if this post is a day late? LOL. Press play and let the G.O.O.D. times roll!
