#NP: Mobb Deep (Havoc) Ft. Tragedy Khadafi - The First Day Of Spring

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: "Word is bond, 'cause I been doing this too long to let you newborn thugs try to come on strong ..." - Tragedy Khadafi AKA "The Foul Mahdi"

Y.O.U. see the title of this 1996 bootleg banger ... I had to post it! Biz Markie's "Spring Again" is most certainly a certified classic, however, such a predictable and uninspired musical pairing for this post in recognition of this much welcomed season would reek of willful negligence on my part. Nope, I can't and I won't do it. Yall already know I aint with the sucker shit ... quality reigns supreme. Now, where my Livestyle Ladies with the pretty pedicured toes @ my nigga? Spring is here!

P.ost S.cript:
Oh yeah, and whereas longtime Livestyle readers are somewhat familiar with my rich New York City pulp NONfiction street lineage, I also additionally have a great many stories surrounding my personal relationship to this Hip Hop thing of ours as well ... and Tragedy Khadafi played a relatively small, but very significant part in the evolution of Livestyle. But, we'll get into all of those exciting early music industry internship tales some other time ... lol.

Trey Songz Wraps Up His "Anticipation 2our" In NYC x Brings Out Fabolous x Big Sean To Perform Both "Oh My" x The "Oh My (Remix)" Live @ MSG.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: SMH. The young G.roupie I.n T.raining singing along, providing deepthroat-ready commentary and presumably recording this footage for her scrapbook of nubile whore memories is annoying as fi-di-duck, but, hey, it's the weekend ... and this is just the type of random ass hit-or-miss soy-based content filler that the internet is givin' up come Saturday and Sunday. Deal with it!. LOL. Message To My Livestyle Hombres: Don't trip. A new #TwerkTeam video soon come! Enjoy!

The Supreme Spring/Summer 2012 "Kate Moss" T-Shirt = I Want. The Nike Air Foamposite One "Galaxy All-Star" = Not So Much.

Certainly none of us can say we didn’t see it coming: Kate Moss joins the pantheon of Dipset, Lou Reed, Kermit the Frog, Mike Tyson and Chef Raekown as the newest celebrity to grace the front of a Supreme photo tee (though this officially marks the third go-round for the model and the New York-based skate label). It’s a safe bet that the tee will sell out within a few hours once Supreme opens for business this Thursday (and continue to sell out as the store restocks throughout the weekend), so if you’re unable to get your hands on one at least there are a host of other graphic tees on offer, the majority of which features understated designs built around the Supreme logo.

Release Dates:

February 23rd, 2012 (Thursday) – NY, LA, & London

February 25th, 2012 (Saturday) – Japan

March 1st, 2012 (Thursday) – Online

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Amazingly, a recent sub-cultural tectonic plate shift has occurred in the messageboard fueled frenzied world of streetwear mania: The heretofore unchallengeable exigent importance of a brand new Supreme New York collection drop looks to be rivaled, if not entirely surpassed, by that of this Saturday's Nike Air Foamposite One "Galaxy All-Star" release. Whoa!

Both brands have an impressive history of drawing huge crowds of Thirst McGurst Trendoids ready to wait on line, OUTSIDE(!) over night for a chance to purchase their respective goods with each big release, however, this time the stakes are a bit higher. This time - because although releasing 2 days apart, one needs to wait on line just to secure a wristband to then wait on yet another surely D.epartment of M.otor V.ehicles-sized line to even get a shot @ purchasing the "Galaxy All-Star"s when they do officially drop - these release dates will effectively overlap thereby throwing the Hypebeast space-time continuum out of whack! Indeed, time is of the essence.

So now, as this asshole apocalypse looms ever near, the question becomes: With the Supreme Spring/Summer 2012 Collection (NOTE: Anchored by the indisputably #HeroinChic defined Supreme signature celebrity-as-ironic-spokesmodel Kate Moss tee) debuting bright and early this Thursday morning, February 23, 2012 and the aforementioned Foamposites on deck 48 hours later for the morning of February 25, 2012, what's an easily influenced, individuality deficient Hipster to do? Decisions, decisions.

I'll tell Y.O.U. what, while everyone else is having their objective realities irreparably mangled in the rusty gears of quantum mechanics and dealing with the pressing metaphysical conundrums associated with this weekend's impending parallel universe split that threatens to shatter the whole Trendoid macrocosm into multi-shards of competing banality, I think that I'ma just sit this 1 out. I want my Kate Moss t-shirt. I give 0 fux about another pair of overhyped Foams though! The sneaker game is ALL fucked up now. SMH. Message To Supreme NYC: I have a date with destiny @ your online shop come 12:01AM March, 1, 2012. Let's get it!

BONUS:
Soooooooooooooooo, this is the line of desperately dehydrated individuals that formed outside of 21 Mercer Street yesterday in hopes of merely getting their hands on the wristband that will guarantee their dumb ass place on line to purchase the Nike Air Foamposite One "Galaxy All-Star"s come this Saturday, February 25, 2012. Word? FUCK OUTTA HERE!

The Champs Are Here (AGAIN)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: I had almost every intention of joining the hundreds of thousands and dare I say MILLIONS of New York Giants fans along the sacred concrete path that winds through the stretch of this beloved metropolis christened the "Canyon Of Heroes" to greet our returning champs, but, alas, the comfort of my own bed won out against the prospect of jumping on the iron horse @ 9AM and fighting for a suitable spot along the victory parade route. Hey, don't judge me. I might not have braved the blue and red ticker tape blizzard of streamers and way-too-drunk-way-too-early dreamers this morning, but niggas already know that it's "Big Blue" all day, everyday on this side homie! I tip my Mitchell & Ness vintage N.Y. Giants skully to Eli "Elite" Manning, the "Man With The Hands", Mario Manningham, Jean Pierre-Paul (NOTE: Y.O.U. down with J.P.P.?), Ahmad Bradshaw and the whole entire team! Oh yeah, *Cue Tupac "Hit 'Em Up" Voice* Fuck New England as a staff, record label and as a muthafuckin' crew! LOL. "CRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUZ!"

The NYC Premier Of Young Jeezy's "A Hustlaz Ambition" Docu-Movie @ Sunshine Theater x After Party @ Beauty & Essex @ USDA2DAYTV.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Yup, "Young Jizzle With The Stamp In The Middle" knows how to bring the hood out in full force every muthafuckin' trip!

Now, of course your standard issue music industry movers and shakers paid loyal homage to Young Jeezy on the eve of the release of his oft pushed back "T.hug M.otivation 103" L.ong P.layer (NOTE: And now Y.O.U. know what L.P. stands for ... lol) and made the proper pilgrimage to NYC's Sunshine Theater for the premier of his Samuel L. Jackson narrated docu-movie, "A Hustlaz Ambition", followed by an after party @ the swanky lounge-as-gastropub Beauty & Essex, but seeing my brother-from-another-beautiful-mother PUSH! Montana and Wink Loc in attendance just took this event to another level! SMH. Is there anywhere on GOD's green earth that Brooklyn DON'T go? That's a rhetorical question my G. Yes, I am unabashedly partial to my niggas ... and there is absolutely nothing that Y.O.U. can do about it CHUMP! LOL. C.T.E. Wooooooooooooorld!

Swizz Beatz Unveils The Brand New Special Edition Red Chrome Lotus In NYC.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Surely, much to the chagrin of more than a few of his "boom bap" production peers, Swizz Beatz - a man who, thanks to his early calling card of ridiculously simple yet irresistibly catchy preprogrammed-sounding CASIO® keyboard beats, once enjoyed a dizzying streak of platinum hits that garnered him commercial and financial success while simultaneously invoking the enmity of many of his contemporaries - has recently engineered a gradual though complete image overhaul recasting himself as a true artist (NOTE: For demonstrative purposes integral to the effectiveness of this post to be pronounced in the pompously pretentious European count/countess manner of "arteest").

Yup, gone are the Ruff Ryders logo laden bandannas and oversized t-shirts - now it's sharply tailored Maison Martin Margiela suits and Christian Louboutin boots. Baby mommas have been replaced and upgraded too - son got Mashonda the fuck up outta here and went and snatched up the beautiful and incredibly talented "1-bad-day-fried-Oreos®-binge-away-from-my-White-sides-genes-kicking-into-full-cankle-mode" Alicia Keys. Clearly, this man has a plan! Next up is cosmopolitan social positioning ... or, in this case, pole positioning!

Taking his matured metropolitan aesthetic to the racetrack, the newly minted VP of creative design and global marketing for the legendary British luxury sports and racing car manufacturer Lotus, just unveiled this special edition Red Chrome Lotus (NOTE: Personally designed by Swizzy!) a few nights back @ a star studded gala in NYC. *Cue "Coming To America" Voice* "That boy good!" LOL. "Vroom! Vroom! Start it up!"

Frank Oceans Performs "Super Rich Kids" Live @ The Bowery Ballroom In NYC 11/27/11.

Frank Ocean - Super Rich Kids from Meredith Truax on Vimeo.
CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Listen man, I fux with Frank Ocean and all that, but my nigga gotta chill with the Bruce Springsteen "Born In The USA" bandanna though ... lol. This shit must cease before it catches on and spirals out of control becoming a hipster Trendoid pandemic of epic proportions b. Thousands could be killed. Momentarily allow your awestruck eyes to look past the catastrophic potential of his old mechanic bandanna, however, and this new song is yet another stellar feather in the snapback cap of this young OFWGKTA balladeer. Good shit!

The New LACOSTE® L!VE Collection = This Is Livestyle ... Literally!

Visit LACOSTE® L!VE USA Online Here: Lacoste.Com/Live/USA

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: To be sure, in these economic times of peril, even well insulated legacy brands have seen their typically solid financials take a brutal beating in the current market. Indeed, only the highest of the highend makers of luxury goods have managed to ascend the turbulent crosswinds that rattle lesser labels. And they solely have the detestable arrogantly affluent 1% to thank (NOTE: Y.O.U. know, the stuffed shirt guys that everybody gathered down @ #OccupyX_____________________ (Insert name of any number of international well meaning, yet quickly unravelling amorphous Neuvo-Hippie makeshift protest tent cities here), because those guy's pockets are unfadable! LOL. The rest of us - companies and common man alike - are not so lucky.

In the world of contemporary fashion this truth has seen many storied brands - in an attempt to siphon sales off of the ever resilient youth market - pair their good names with some of today's leading cutting edge outfitters; the results running the gamut from awesome offerings showcasing the contrasting brilliance of old and new to contrived clusterfucks that reek of the stinky perfume that is desperation. Thankfully, the new LACOSTE® L!VE line represents the former. Officially launched just a couple of months back in September of this year, LACOSTE® L!VE is much more than a convenient collaboration. Nope! LACOSTE® has created a younger, more vibrant brand and, as such, has positioned it independently from the original flagship label - La Chemise Lacoste - which was founded by RenĂ© Lacoste and AndrĂ© Gillier in France waaaaaaaaaaaay back in 1933.

Now, in the interest of full disclosure, I've gotta keep it a buck with yall: Up until today I had been kinda heavy handed on the "SNOOZE" button with this offshoot. Lacoste has had a curious history in the hood. Starting sometime during the mid 1980's, as young felonious fashionistas used aluminum foil lined shopping bags to foil clothing sensors in department stores on their way to cutting out a nice slice of the "American Pie" for themselves, pricey purveyors of the preppy aesthetic such as Ralph Lauren Polo, Fila, Benetton and LACOSTE® set the streets on fuckin' fire! Coming up in Flatbush, Brooklyn I even remember the Izod Posse. SMH. Yall don't feel me.

In any event, LACOSTE®'s star faded for a time, but made a strong resurgence around 2004 and has pretty much held steady ever since. That having been said, however, I can be an unapologetic fashion snob, so when I saw 1-too-many fake Nike ACG boots wearing derelicts getting crazy with the green "Crocodile" logo ... I had to chill. Nothing personal my nigga ... I just don't do the obvious.

Now though, with the introduction of this new highly imaginative collection of colorblock hoodies, bold long sleeve plaid shirts, large "Croc" graphic jackets (NOTE: Perfect for "flamming"), uniquely printed polos and more I have A LOT to look forward to! Y.O.U. already know the colorblock hoody with the large "L" and signature "Croc" is ALL mine hombre! LOL. Y.O.U. see it. This is Livestyle.

HAPPY VETERANS DAY 2011!

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Lacking the Summer seasonal introductory holiday fanfare of Memorial Day, Veterans Day has unfortunately largely become a halfhearted lazy and spiritless salute to the troops - past and present - whom sacrificed life and limb in the name of our country. There are no promises of hickory smoked salmon BBQ's each year come November 11th, just yellow and burnt orange foliage falling from the trees along New York City's 5th Avenue like so much ticker tape during a parade that most are too busy to attend.

My personal feelings towards America's continuing self serving policies of global colonialism under the guise of "Democracy Building" aside, I hold no animus towards my brave brothers and sisters enlisted in the United States Armed Forces. Our union is far from perfect, however, the freedoms that Y.O.U. and I so easily take for granted without as much as a 2nd thought given to how such liberties are ensured us are exactly what these brave men and women fight for each and every day!

Yes, I know that shit is fucked up, but please exercise some emotional restraint and try, try, try to apply a rational perspective to our irrational world ... things could be a lot worse boys and girls. Stop playing. Remember: All gave some, but some gave all. Happy Veterans Day 2011!

Wale Apologizes To Rosa Acosta Live On The Air With Funkmaster Flex @ Hot 97.1 FM In NYC.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS:  So, niggas is just apologizing to hoes now, huh? In public!? This aint even the sneaky late night drunk dial text message attempt to get back in the box kind of apology ... I might could respect that.  SMH. Is this what the future holds for modern man as we prepare to enter 2012!? The game is fucked up G ... lol.  It is what it is. Rosa Acosta for the WIN!

What The Slush?

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Well, well, well, Winter sure is in a hurry! My Summer clothes have had barely enough time to become balled-up wrinkled memories stuffed in a plastic storage bin and it's already snowing in New York City! In October? Hold up, let me check my trusty complimentary calendar from my local Chinese Cleaners. Yup, it's October ... the 29th of the month to be exact.

Today is a new day. Life post-global warming (NOTE: Or, because although completely accurate in its description of the Earth's rising temperature I do believe the term to be somewhat of a misnomer, what I like to call "global fuckery".) has reduced meteorology and, more specifically, weather forecasting to a fucking guessing game - and we're all pretty much used to this new reality. But THIS!? I mean, literally as recently as last week there was a lone Mister Softee® Ice Cream Truck desperately cruising my hood, shaking down kids and extorting parents for every last bit of change available before having to park up until next year and now, as I type this, there is a snowplow pushing slushy misery down my block. SMH. Un. Fucking. Believable.

The Farmer's Almanac called it my nigga; Winter 2011-2012 is finna be no joke! Y.O.U. already know.

Future Ft. Drake - Tony Montana (Official Music Video)(Directed By Jessy Terrero)

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Yup! Just as I predicted, there is 0 sign of Drizzy "Wheelchair Jimmy" Drake in this video. No surprises here ... he was probably somewhere drunk dialing Rihanna and clutching the Bounty® Paper Towel that had originally been tucked in his shirt for "mobbin'" purposes and using it to blot the tears on his fetal alcohol syndrome addled face. Whatevs. That's no problemo for Future (NOTE: Who sounds about as nimble tongued speaking Spanish as New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg ... minus the accuracy ... lol). Good shit!

#OccupyMsWallStreet !

Uno.

Dos.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: First and foremost, let me make myself very clear. As a general rule, these voyeur type videos are NOT my twist. The idea of some 1-slippery-step-from-being-a-full-time-tree-jumping-rapist pervert in training calculating a sexually deviant plot to stalk (NOTE: Yes, STALK!) and film some unsuspecting female walking the streets is ordinarily not an act that I condone nor is it an experience that I care to share via sneaky cameraphone video; the operative word being ordinarily ... lol.

Yes, whilst legions of filthy hippies #OccupyWallStreet and swarm upon Zuccotti Park to protest corporate greed and, apparently, showers as well, THIS nigga has been in basically the same neighborhood filming this faceless and nameless thick thighed 9-to-5 vision of #LUST for weeks with no end in sight. I swear the dude taping shorty - dubbed "Ms. Wall Street" for the area in which she works - has uploaded a new video of this sturdy itchbay like every 2 days for 3 weeks str8 my nigga! And she isn't the only victim. Nope, this creep-about-town is committed to his grind, burning up his unlimited MetroCard℠ and capturing footage of all kinds of random backshots in motion from across the 5 boroughs.

With the hours this man keeps, I knoooooooooow that homeboy is habitually unemployed and probably has some kind of sex offender status red flag attached to his name. But, these videos my nigga! These videos make me want to #Occupy a whoooooooooooole lot more than Wall Street ... lol. SMH. Like, I really want to tell this nigga how much he needs to chill - synchronizing your watch to know exactly when a person gets off the train everyday is official uncut weirdo shit - but, I just can't bring myself to do it ... lol. Stop playing.

VH-1's "Love & Hip Hop" Season 2 (Supertrailer) = Yay! More Hoes, Hasbeens, Housewives x Haymakers!

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Yup, the show that broke my heart and revealed the harsh reality that Somaya Reece is wack as fuck is back for season numero dos.

Now, I know that people play it up extra for these reality shows and that the drama is often exaggerated, if not completely staged for entertainment purposes, but, I will say 1 thing: Kimbella does NOT want it with Chrissy Lampkin. Y.O.U. think former kiddie cocaine kingpin turned king snitch, Alberto "Alpo" Martinez, brought her up to these NYC streets @ 13 years old for nothing!? Shorty been in the game. Ohhh, yall don't nothing about all that. Cool. I'm just saying, from the looks of this trailer, Kimbella got her ass washed AND folded bro. SMH. On your mark, get set ... SHENANIGANS!

Nas - Nasty (Directed By Goldwatch)(Official Music Video)

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: This Goldwatch directed video for "Nasty" is so good that as Nas cruises through the city streets - him awash in every bit of jewelry that he has left to his name post Kelis divorce and the nightscape awash in neon lights that flutter amongst the sea of nameless faces and shameless actions that is New York City - flanked by 2 models looking as cozy as a Snuggie® in the backseat of his Rolls-Royce Phantom, that one can EASILY look past Nasir's #SWAG deficient choice of attire ... namely the butterfly collar lounge singer button-up. SMH. All sins are forgiven though when Nas gives dap to legendary 1980's Queens drug baron Tommy "Montana" Mickens after dropping his name in the song. Nope. It doesn't get much realer than that folks. Good shit!

Rick Ross Talks Beef With Young Jeezy, His Loyalty To DJ Envy x More With The Breakfast Club On Power 105.1 FM In NYC.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Daaaaaamn! As he surveys his kingdom from atop Mt. Hip Hop, the super greasy Wingstop® Lemon Pepper greasy talk directed towards Young Jeezy from everybody's favorite cartoon cocaine superhero, Señor Rozay, is to be expected ... but, DJ Envy and Charlamagne The God need to chill the fuck out! Acting like my nigga "Young Jizzle With The Stamp In The Middle" aint NEVER coming back is the wrong way to move player. SMH. "GOD Forgives, I Don't" in stores December 13, 2011. "BAAAAAAAAAAAAWSE!"

The Brand New Cornelian Taurus Canvas Fishtail Backpack = Fish Fry Fly.

"A fantastic new backpack has released from Cornelian Taurus, the Japanese accessories brand by Daisuke Iwanaga.

“Made of a strong black canvas with horse leather detailing, this is, of course, not your average backpack. The level of craft put on this is incredible with great work on the arm straps together with beautiful brass on the adjuster rings, two way zippers, press buttons and pullers. Features an amazing fish tail which can be worn closed or hanging. One outside zip pocket at front, two at the sides with press buttons and one zip pocket inside. Fully lined with leather trimmings.”

With so many backpacks in the market and most brands going down the trail/hiking route, we have to admit that this is a refreshing new look, with craftsmanship at its core. Por Vocacao has it in stock now, priced at 650 Euros."

Information Courtesy Of: Highsnobiety.Com

Available Online Here: Porvocacao.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: As a proud product of these late 1980's and 1990's NYC streets - a gloriously larcenous 10kt slum gold gilded age of boosting boys and girls equipped with homemade aluminum foil lined security alarm disabling "Lizzie" bags and oversized AND overstringed (LOL) JanSport® bookbags - I once felt a great affinity for backpacks; once being the operative word.

Indeed, sometime during the late 1990's, the formerly fearsome form of the "backpacker" was surreptitiously co-opted by Cro-Magnon Hipsters whom, after years of genectic grafting, have evolved (NOTE: Or devolved given your opinion of this race. Yall already know how I feel.) the feckless parasitic Trendoids that we all know and loathe. Almost overnight, the hard fought term "backpacker" was eviscerated by these agents of lame and went from being synonymous with real niggas wielding ice picks to Charmin® Ultra Soft pseudo-intellectual off-beat-rapper-listening niggas with incense and chewsticks. And just like that, the underground Hip Hop scene as I knew it was gone and an entire generation was lost. SMH.

In any event, while my contempt for anti-anything-mainstream-musically-merely-for-the-sake-of-being-a-contrarian ironic backpackers coupled with good ole maturity made me distance myself from bookbags as a whole, I kind of fux with this brand new Cornelian Taurus Canvas Fishtail Backpack. Handcrafted of strong black canvas and horse leather detailing, this luxe knapsack aint nothing to sleep on. Score 1 for the classy crooks! LOL. Good shit!

Birthday Cakes Vs. Album Release Dates.

Meanwhile, Back @ The Offices Of Def Jam Music Group In NYC ...

Señor Rozay, Joined By DJ Khaled, Delights A Crowded Conference Room Full Of Do-Nothing A&R's And Collect-A-Check Record Execs With Some Of His Newest Music And Inches Ever Closer To Securing A Release Date For "GOD Forgives, I Don't".

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Listen, I'm not your typical snarky-for-the-sake-of-being-snarky message board menace emboldened by online username anonymity, trumpeting my "gangsta" in "Caps Lock" tough guy outbursts type of blogger. Nope. Not me. I am the antithesis of ANYBODY who aint living it.

I make this declaration for no other reason than to say that I fully understand why after trappin' all day AND all night my nigga "Young Jizzle With The Stamp In The Middle" would want to celebrate his "G-Day" in style with his closest of co-defendants and the requisite cold young light skinned breezy with pretty toes. Niggas gotta applaud that. But, my only thing is, while all of these festivities - while certainly more than appropos given the joyous occasion that is his bornday - are going on release dates are getting pushed back to near "Detox" levels and Rick Ross is running up in Def Jam's NYC offices with ALL of the momentum in the world and 36 ounces of brand new heavily creatine cut ear candy ready to hit the streets! I'm just saying yall. Where's that T.hug M.otivation 103 @ yo? Talk to me.
