The Official Livestyle Memorial Day Weekend 2012 Miami, Florida G-Cap Starring: Meek Mill, Fabolous, 2 Chainz, DJ Khaled x Diddy!

Uno.

(NOTE: SM-Muthafuckin'H. The nigga hosting this video is quite possibly the lamest fuck boy on the planet, buuuuuuuuuut Tity Boi AKA 2 Chainz is on it, so a hood pass has been respectfully granted.)
Dos.

Tres.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: While federally recognized and observed as a holiday for us as a nation to take pause and honor the selfless men and women of our armed forces whom have perished in the fight to ensure our collective freedoms, the majority of us - myself equally culpable and included - pretty much take Memorial Day for granted and view it as little more than the unofficial white boat shoe kick-off to yet another ice cold Corona® Extra beer Igloo® cooler filled Summer. And it should represent oh so much more.

Alas, I am, however, able to bandage my wounded half-assed, self-righteous sense of situational patriotism and civic duty (NOTE: Whatever the fuck that means ... lol.) with the forgiving gauze of the knowledge that I am taking NO part in the annual Super Bowl of niggerdom (NOTE: Yup, Y.O.U. read that right.) that is Memorial Day Weekend in Miami, Florida ... lol.

Non-stop nouveau riche AND wannabe nouveau riche shenanigans for 72 hours? Nahh, I'm good. Hey, sometimes it's all about cheap personal victories ... lol. In any event, please enjoy this patented Livestyle video "G-Cap" of a handful of this weekends star studded(?) festivities. Happy Memorial Day 2012!!!!

Grow Up: Re-Examining The Classic Polo Shirt (A Livestyle Continuing Education Course)

The Gant by Michael Bastian Heritage Stripe Polo Is Available Online Here: Shop.Nordstrom.Com

The MARC By Marc Jacobs Crest Logo Polo Is Available Online Here: Bloomingdales.Com

The Ralph Lauren Polo Custom-Fit RL Print Big Pony Is Available Online Here: Ralphlauren.Com

The Ralph Lauren Polo Classic-Fit Surfer Print Polo Is Available Online Here: Ralphlauren.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: On the heels of a recent involuntary sabbatical due to back spasms brought on by years of trap induced stress, I have once again returned upright in both my disposition and posture to punch-out my signature brand of pithy prose. It's been a minute. However, combine my writer's rust with a rapidly approaching Summer season that regularly offers fashionably sober men little sartorial options and, now, I've REALLY got an uphill battle on my hands.

What to do?

Welp, in times like this when cut and sew inspiration is in short supply, I find it comforting to re-examine the classics and peel the surface back on the obvious for a fresh take on style. Somewhat surprisingly, after taking a dirt nap somewhere back around 2007, the plain white t-shirt has been reborn.

Long gone are the XXXL sleep dress sized shirts of yesteryear. No, today's reincarnated tees are worn true to size and, if not strictly being used as a modest sweat barrier undershirt, are probably a v-neck. Bravo Hip Hop! Bravo! Convenient as they may be though, white t-shirts alone do not a Summer wardrobe make. Re-enter the polo shirt.

One need not actually enjoy this 1%er pastime or even designer de Americana, Ralph Lauren (NOTE: Y.O.U. really don't rock with Ralphie though? Like, for real my nigga? SMH. Perish the thought.), in order to dress like a true player in this "Sport Of Kings". Of course, for me, Mr. Lipschitz is the shit, but to lazily stop there would be to ignore a world, no, a universe of superlative options from some the world's greatest luxury brands. To that end, as your venerable curator of cool, I have taken the liberty of assembling a small selection of consistently fly polo styles perfect for discerning fashion hounds come the "dog days" of Summer. Take a look player. Yup, I still put the "G" in GQ! This is Livestyle.

420 Soldiers Unite!

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: It's been 2 years since I have published an entry in recognition of this High Times Magazine holiday, however, be not dismayed my pot head friends, my support for Y.O.U. remains ever strong.

Although my leisure pursuits involve neither the chiefing of Chocolate Chunk nor the kindling of Kush, I've got nothing but L.O.V.E. for yall! Why? Because I understand the basic human need for escapism - chemically assisted or otherwise ... Lol.

So, whether it be my legendary affinity for Irish Catholic whiskey (NOTE: YES, I am without a doubt talking about Y.O.U. John Jameson) or your vanilla Dutch Master® wrapped smoldering lust for THC crystal coated cannabis, I recognize that our disparate paths ultimately lead us ALL to a marvelous single common goal - a shared joie de vivre. Woe to those who hate and cheers to those whom celebrate! This is life. This is Livestyle!

The Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low 2012 = The Elephant NOT Quite Yet In The Room.

"It looks like Supreme and Nike SB are getting in bed once again for what can only result in pandemonium. Revisiting the Jordan inspired elephant print dunk lows of 2002, Supreme is switching things up, infusing a heavy dose of red to the upper, set off by the Supreme box logo printed across the insoles. Stay with us for further information on this 10 year anniversary release."

Information Courtesy Of: Highsnobiety.Com x Sneakernews.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Whilst it would seem that the entire sneaker loving universe is trapped in the unrelenting death grip of a full fledged Nike Foamposite frenzy brought on, no doubt, by a retro revisionist history that has taken what was originally a marginally popular pair of sneakers and deified them beyond rational belief in their retail resurrection, some of us O.G. Kicks connoisseurs still fondly remember when the SB Dunk was the undisputed heavyweight champeen of all major quick strike releases.

Fittingly, 10 years after their groundbreaking inaugural creative conspiracy to divide the sneaker world between them, streetwear demigods Supreme NYC have once again joined forces with Nike - the only sneaker company that REALLY matters (NOTE: I mean, I'm an equal opportunity spender when it comes to any and all things that my ever discerning eye identifies as fly - high price being neither an attraction or a disincentive when purchasing an item - but when it comes to kicks my nigga ... Let's be real) - to commemorate this auspicious anniversary with this Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low drop for 2012.

This updated collabo combines the thoughtful and aesthetically smart Air Jordan "Elephant" print that made the original 2002 Dunk lows so popular with a vibrant Chicago Bulls-esque colorway of red uppers and toecaps offset by the subtle "Supreme" and Nike Skateboarding (NOTE: Y.O.U. knew that's what the "SB" in Nike SB stood for, right? Right? Don't play with me.) "SB" logo branded insoles, black accents and black signature Nike "Swoosh".

Sounds awesome, right? Hold up though, with no confirmed release date set for these Geological Society of America® approved gems, Hipsters AND decidedly haute couture hoods alike are just gonna have to chill, stack that fetti and dream a little Supreme dream in the meantime. Stay on point my niggas. This is Livestyle.

The Brand New Bentley EXP 9F SUV = Put Your Budget Up, Nigga!

"Bentley’s SUV Is a Rapper’s Delight
By Peter Orosz

GENEVAIt isn’t often that a car literally makes you say WTF aloud. But it isn’t often that you see a V12-powered SUV. A Bentley SUV, no less.

Pictures cannot convey the obnoxious scale of the Bentley EXP 9F concept here at the Geneva auto show, so we’ll tell you it rides on 23-inch wheels and leave it at that. It’s hard to make sense of the 9F and its unashamed bling at a time when so many automakers are stuffing small engines into small cars, or eschewing engines and petrol for motors and batteries.

Naturally, the 9F comes with a 12-cylinder engine, although Bentley’s Peter Guest was quick to note a plug-in hybrid would be an option, were the behemoth to make it into production. Bentley is currently gauging reception from the few hundred people in the world who a.) would want a Bentley SUV and b.) could afford it.

The 9F feels terribly wrong on all levels until you sit in on a few press conferences with luxury automakers who say the United States remains their largest market, but China isn’t far behind. Maserati, for instance, already sells half as many Maserati GranTurismos in China as they do in the states. And Bentley, which saw a banner year in 2011, enjoys particularly brisk sales in China.

So from that perspective, the 9F makes a ton of sense (more like four tons, given the car’s dimensions). It’s perfect for a violently nouveaux riche market. It’s big, it’s brash and it’s completely obvious, a Continental GT on steroids.

The EXP 9F — Bentley has since 1919 used the EXP designation for all experimental or concept cars, and says it “is meant to stand for ground-breaking innovation” — looks like it was carved from a block of alloy. It’s got everything you’d expect from a vehicle that will never go off-road, including all-wheel drive, along with a 6.0-liter V12.

No word on when, or if, the 9F might see production, but Bentley did say many of its current customers also have an SUV in the garage, and there’s no sense giving that business to, say, Mercedes-Benz.

Information Courtesy Of: Wired.Com x Forbes.Com
CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS:  Some observations merely hold a single grain of weightless truth whilst others constitute an entire private beach's worth of sea soaked sand. The recent Wired.Com piece titled "Bentley’s SUV Is a Rapper’s Delight" (NOTE: Cited for this entry) which simultaneously extols both the virtues AND the ridiculous appeal of such a vehicle to a small yet perpetually papered up "violently nouveaux riche" market represents the latter. Yeah, this is 1 of those "The truth hurts" moments ... lol.

I admit it, I can be hyper-sensitive to the casual contempt with which "Hip Hop" culture is addressed and remain particularly weary of the ever-present sly-grinned silhouette of passive racism that likes nothing more than to loiter around such conversation.

That having been said, the all-wheel drive, 6.0-liter V-12 Bentley EXP 9F SUV behemoth just unveiled @ the 2012 Geneva Auto Show IS poised to be EVERY rapper's new car crush! Fuck the dumb shit.

Y.O.U. should fully expect brash EXP 9 (NOTE: Since 1919 Bentley Motors has used the "EXP" designation for all experimental or concept cars and says it “is meant to stand for ground-breaking innovation”) wishes to infiltrate the verses of your favorite "look-at-me" luxury enamored MC any day now. Shiiiiiiiiiiiit, I wouldn't mind spilling some Perrier-Jouët Brut Rosé on these diamond-quilted shouldered, saddle leather seats my damn self ... lol. You've gotta do it early though ... no "Johnny-come-latelies" on this trip ... lol. It is what it is.  This is Livestyle!

Trey Songz Wraps Up His "Anticipation 2our" In NYC x Brings Out Fabolous x Big Sean To Perform Both "Oh My" x The "Oh My (Remix)" Live @ MSG.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: SMH. The young G.roupie I.n T.raining singing along, providing deepthroat-ready commentary and presumably recording this footage for her scrapbook of nubile whore memories is annoying as fi-di-duck, but, hey, it's the weekend ... and this is just the type of random ass hit-or-miss soy-based content filler that the internet is givin' up come Saturday and Sunday. Deal with it!. LOL. Message To My Livestyle Hombres: Don't trip. A new #TwerkTeam video soon come! Enjoy!

HAPPY LEAP YEAR 2012!!!!

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Woooooooo hoooooooooooo! According to the pretty much universally accepted and O.G. respected Gregorian calendar (NOTE: Go Christianity!), as occurs every 4 years in the interest of keeping our astronomical or seasonal year all celestially synchronized and shit, today is the day that we tack on an extra day to the month of February; giving us ALL 1 more day to NOT really celebrate Black History Month ... lol.

Yup, you've now been awarded a bonus 366th day to lament having squandered - like 99% of your other days - as you look back upon this year and take a deep personal audit of your time management skills come New Year's Eve 2013. Fun! Fun! Fun! HAPPY LEAP YEAR 2012 from Amy Adams, Matthew Goode and Livestyle!

Happy Valentine's Day 2012 AKA The "Play Smarter" Gospel According To Chris Live.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
(NOTE: Yup, my nigga Ralph Wiggum definitely knows what time it is!)

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: My ill feelings towards the ruthless corporatization that has fiendishly transmuted the once holy St. Valentine's Day into simply yet another hallmark of Hallmark® greeting card avirice aside, I still got maaaaaaaaad L.O.V.E. for this holiday! Allow me to break it down homie.

See, where most men render a sad Pavlovian-like "heart-shaped box of chocolate accompanied by a requisite bouquet of flowers" response to this intimacy-by-proof-of-purchase (NOTE: NOT to be confused with ye "oldest profession in the world" ... @ least ideally ... lol) impetus, I, on the other hand, enjoy taking this opportunity to let the woman in my life know just how special to me she is and doing so in a special way. And, please be clear, this is most certainly NOT about going on a spending spree. In fact, on the real, I might fuck around and spend even less than usual today.

Why? Because, my idea of romance is a brilliant mixture of thoughtfulness and timing. I'm not out here trying to just carelessly hurl my trusty Louis Vuitton Damier print wallet into the price gouger's pit and overpay for some random ass generic gift! Nahh shorty, I'm trying to show Y.O.U. that I pay attention ... and that's what's truly priceless.  L.O.V.E. should be a 24/7, 365 thing ... Valentine's Day is just the All-Star Game baby ... lol.  Can Y.O.U. dig it?  Y.O.U. can?  Good,  I knew that Y.O.U. could AND that Y.O.U. would.  Now, make daddy proud.  This is Livestyle!

The Uniform Experiment Double Hooded Trench Coat For Spring 2012 = Modern Trench Warfare.

"The trench coat is a timeless jacket are here is a reinterpretation of the classic trench coat by uniform experiment from their soon to launch Spring/Summer 2012 collection. At first glance, the sky blue vertical zipper on the chest jumps right out, a common detail borrowed from outdoor jackets. Apart from the aforementioned detail, the Hooded Double Trench Coat retains its traditional silhouette. Highly durable cotton gabardine fabric is used to construct the navy colored coat and it is fitted with a large, detachable hood. Buckles and buttons are all color coordinated for a unified look, while a single silver chain loop stand out on the waist. This piece can be ordered through NOA’S ARK online shop in Japan."

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Try as I must to be an ever forward thinking individual, alas, at least for today, I am undeniably a creature of the moment. This morning is still bathroom-floor-too-cold status, but the sun is strong and, according to my PIX11 Morning News forecast (NOTE: Gracias Lisa Matteo!), we're due for yet another round of mild sauce come the middle of this week. This entire Winter season has been unseasonably friendly, however, woven into the fabric of this more than welcome weather pattern has been some rain, but anybody who knows me knows that I am NOT one to complain. Nope., I'm a go getter homie. I am results oriented.

Now, with that in mind and with specific regard to the weather, when it gets a little damp and chilly outside I don't trip, I just reach for my trusty trench coat. In (FUN) fact, what was originally viewed as simply a wise adult addition to my wardrobe has since become a beloved staple of my tout ensemble ... and I think that I might have found a worthy heir to the throne in this stunning Japanese export. That having been said, allow me to enthusiastically introduce to Y.O.U. the Uniform Experiment Double Hooded Trench Coat for Spring 2012.

Cardinal to fully appreciating the Livestyle fly minded philosophy and, indeed, a cornerstone of this democratic charismatic authority, is a willingness to look far beyond the "now" coupled with an innate ability to embrace both the old and the new in a generation-defying, trend defiling group hug. And this mack daddy mackintosh invites Y.O.U. to do just that!

Leave it to Hiroshi Fujiwara (NOTE: The founder of Fragment Design) and partner Hirofumi Kiyonaga (NOTE: The founder of the $500USD hoody pushing SOPHNET) to know exactly how to spike this conservative punch with just the right amount of Tokyo streetwear flair. Aside from the sky blue vertical zipper providing a burst of color to the chest, this trench remains piously true to the classic trench coat silhouette. However, it is precisely that lone break from the orthodoxy of proper rain coat religiousity that makes all of the difference in the world! I guess the Devil really is in the details. Act like Y.O.U. know bro. Respect this navy blue gabardine dream! This is Livestyle.

The Brunch Bunch Pt. 173

(NOTE: Astute long-time Livestyle subscribers - if able to look ever so briefly beyond the surface of this bubbly bonanza of girls - might have noticed that in addition to carefully curating a collection of curvaceous cuties each weekend with the often imitated, never duplicated "Brunch Bunch" that I also make an effort to artistically arrange these images in somewhat of a graduated pattern; basically in size order from smallest to largest and placing same sized images in succession of one another. To break up the monotony and give these fanciful portfolios of poontang pie more freedom of flow I will intermittently include some oversized pictures in the midst of smaller pictures; a pattern that remains largely consistent until the wide shot crescendo of the last 5 or so images of each thirst-quenching installment. I mention this all only to illustrate how little of a fuck was given when posting the visual VIAGRA® that is this candid picture of the Svedka Robot Girl AKA Ms. Amber Rose as this week's leadoff hitter. Do Y.O.U. see those thighs, those legs nigga!? #LUST)

The Raf Simons "Chain" Oxford Shoe For Spring/Summer 2012 = "Now, That's What The Fuck I Call A 'Chain Reaction'"

"Here is a great piece from highly coveted Belgian fashion designer Raf Simons with this chain oxford shoe representing a more conceptual side of the designer. With a shape and mould representing a more classic design with a premium leather upper and quality leather sole, the design is defined by the gold chain piping above the midsole providing a unique touch."
Information Courtesy Of: Slamxhype.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Indeed, nearly from day numero uno, I have eagerly employed Livestyle as my personal bully pulpit, an authority from which I have made it my business to excoriate any and all things lame and likewise elevate our collective modern palette to that of a culturally comprehensive sartorial sommelier of sorts capable of truly distinguishing the best from the rest. Me no play, play ... lol. To that end, exploring the timelessness of style as constant and fashion as its tangible cyclical consumer-ready rebirth remains 1 of the great joys of my life! Our latest principle proving primping P.I.M.P. piece comes courtesy of brilliant Belgian design diviner Raf Simons and his sick "Chain" Oxford Shoe for Spring/Summer 2012.

Now, off the rip, yall know that - when executed expertly AND thoughtfully - I am a sucker for classic conservative wardrobe mainstays receiving the 2-shots-of-Booker's-Bourbon-on-an-empty-stomach twist ... lol. The chunky slum gold piping on these bad boys got these standard-issue hard bottoms turnt all the way the fidduck up! On the real, every man over the age of 25 needs to seriously, seriously invest in @ least 1 proper pair of shoes (NOTE: And I damn sure aint talking about some "I'm-not-really-into-the-whole-idea-of-dress-shoes-so-I'll-just-cop-some-all-black-kicks-just-to-get-me-in-the-club" monstrosities either! Stop playing.) and, if you're bold enough, THESE could very well be them. Y.O.U. can't live life scared to pull the trigger homie! Watch and learn. This is Livestyle.

BONUS:

In my sincere pursuit of achieving and championing a greater cultural refinement, the conversation that is Livestyle requires that any individual participating in this ongoing dialogue be fluent in an array of disciplines. As such, when applicable, it is up to me to successfully fulfill my duty of due diligence to identify and clarify any potentially cloudy allusions that I may have made in any given entry ... this shit though? This is a bit different.

I mean, the oft referenced and recycled by the likes of lesser MC's (NOTE: Yup! I am looking directly @ Y.O.U. Remy Ma.) Jay-Z line sourced from his "I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)" *Cue Dancehall Reggae Bashment Selector Voice* "chine" shouldn't even need an explanation my nigga. This is basic fly individual protocol my G. Act like Y.O.U. know!

Happy (Belated) New Year 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: My pen, a piece of paper, this keyboard and, increasingly, the notepad application on my shitty HTC Status™ Android™ have become the confessional booth by which and through which I am able to make public my pointedly opinionated affirmations regarding music, fashion, overall style and life. Indeed, what once was strictly the domain of my expansive and terribly expensive thoughts has now - thanks to my own license - become fanciful fodder for any and all aroused by my artistically slanted prose. So, as we cap off yet another stellar year of aesthetic aggregation, I find it once again necessary to let Y.O.U. know just how much I appreciate your participation. With Livestyle I have created, cultivated and, hopefully, instigated a lifestyle that embraces and encourages bold individuality in the face of today's soft-minded sartorial servants that desire nothing more than to render us ALL obedient Trendoids devoid of any excitable will that may dare think outside of the box ... and like a true P.I.M.P., I ALWAYS think outside of the box.

To that end, in the absence of inspiration that has seen the amount of posts on this blog dwindle, I thank Y.O.U. for your continued support. After nearly 4 years @ the helm of this esteemed online destination, it is my interactions with Y.O.U. that continue to make this profound labor of L.O.V.E. so worthwhile. At the end of the day, I'ma keep it a buck and let Y.O.U. know that I'm a bonafide hustler ... this blog is only 1 small immaculately laundered aspect of my felonious life. Wait, have I said too much? Fuck it ... we're all family ... lol.

In any event, for 2012 I sincerely want to advance the Livestyle ideology of quality over quantity and provide Y.O.U. a reliable cultural compass calibrated against only the finest things that this world has to offer. So, who's really ready to ride? Accept no substitutes. Let's get it in 2012! GOD Bless.

Merry Christmas 2011 = No Politics ... Just Lots Of Gifts, Family x L.O.V.E.!

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Having spent the better part of yesterday wrapped up in a whirlwind of unwrapping presents against a blessed backdrop of bountiful holiday bites and loving family, I was obviously remiss in doling out my wishes of Christmas cheer to my beloved Livestyle community. My apologies. Thankfully, my sentiments of peace, L.O.V.E. and good will towards all are non-perishable. With that, I invite Y.O.U. all to free your hide-bound hearts and rejoice in the universal spirit of charity and faith.

Yes, "faith" ... that most confuzzling of constitutions. In this case NOT a faith that regularly pits mainstream ecclesiastical Christians against hardline literal Christians that deem our common Christmas celebrations as nothing more than socially acceptable corporate sponsored Pagan ritualism, but a faith that celebrates our shared humanity and isn't afraid to hand out some kick ass gifts ... lol. Stop playing. Message To The Loyal Livestyle Community: GOD Bless Y.O.U., one and all. Now, pass the Coquito!

The Brunch Bunch Pt. 170 (The "Merry Christmas 2011" Edition!)

(NOTE: As previously discussed, although the publishing of multiple - mouthwatering though they may be - images of any single voluptous vision of #LUST in any given "Brunch Bunch" post is greatly discouraged, I am not afraid to pull the trigger and temporarily suspend this particular fundamental statute of the Livestyle governing charter when both the need AND nature arises ... lol. Besides, it's Christmas homie ... a little extra L.O.V.E. always makes the perfect gift. You're welcome. You're ALL welcome!)
