Go B.I.G. Or Go Home.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: As I stand Raf Simons booted on the precipice of yet another glorious birthday I still find it hard to believe that it has indeed been 15 years since the world was robbed of the late, great Notorious B.I.G. Equally staggering is the landscape of Hip Hop 2012 - a musical map dotted with constant reminders that we may never fully recover from the combined loss of both Christopher Wallace and his complicated contemporary Tupac Shakur.

For fly individuals such as myself, an aerial view of today's Hip Hop field quickly reveals a cold-to-the-touch cultural climate bearing all the hypothetical effects of a Nuclear Winter scenario where our collective subjective theories of truth are severely clouded by mediocrity, promising talents are covered in cynical soot and ambitions wilt away in remote corporate created pigeon holes deprived of sunlight.

Yes, to quote Biggie, "Things Done Changed". However, bleak descriptions aside, I remain an eternal optimist, so amongst the wreckage of lonely non-wrecked microphones, I still see hope! When people insist that we "Think B.I.G." today, I agree ... we must ALL truly think big. Better it that we take the bitter lemons that we were given when the original "true player for real" passed and enjoy Hennessy® spiked lemonade in his Coogi-laced memory than to stubbornly succumb to sour-pussed artistic dehydration. Biggie's catalogue has survived the true death and is a living, breathing testament to his conceptual genius all these many years later. Appreciate it.

On this, the 15th the anniversary of his assassination, I invite Y.O.U. to do all that Y.O.U. can to keep this man's legacy alive and well. Never stop dreaming of new "Lear jets and coupes" the mesmerizing way that "Salt "Shoops" and how to sell records like Snoop" ... lol. Continue to look to his awesome body of work for inspiration and motivation ... I know that I still do. #RIPBIG Think B.I.G.

iStruggle.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: After having spent the better part of this last week betwixt and between a rock and a corrupted hard disk space, I, along with my trusty (NOTE: Although recklessly promiscuous and therefore ridiuclously vulnerable to internet viruses) desktop computer have banded together in bandwith solidarity to once again beat back the forces of Time Warner Cable® and reclaim my rightful internet access! Yes, my gateway to the worldwide web is safe ... for now.

Having shimmied off the chains of nearly a week's worth of offline oppression and enduring the nightmarish isolation that shitty modems insure, I emerge today reinvigorated with the 4AM let-out post-club courage of 10 Hennessy® swiggin' tough guys to bring Y.O.U. the gospel according to Livestyle! Amen. Now, let's get back to business!

President Obama's 2011 State Of The Union Address = Yup, "We Do Big Things!"

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: A day after President Obama addressed the nation, I have heard some commentators dismissively label his 2011 State Of The Union speech as just a "pep rally". Really? Fine. We are each entitled to our opinion no matter how obtuse. That having been said, now my question to all members of the cult of the impossibly cynical is, "What's so wrong with that?"

Last night, live from Flatbush, Brooklyn, in the living room of my partner A's crib, I sat - nickel plastic cup of Hennessey Privilege in hand - on the edge of my seat and watched as our President masterfully used the guitar pick of nostalgia to pluck the strings of U.S. pride and serenade us ALL with yet another song called "Hope". This was the remix. Actually, I think the real name of the song as it will appear next Tuesday on Apple iTunes® is "We Do Big Things". Whaaaaaaat!? Fuck John Boehner and his pink choke tie wearing yawning ass. Y.O.U. damn right my President is Black ... lol. Good shit!

Live From Facebook HQ: Kanye West - Freestyle/"Chain Heavy" (Preview)(Accapella)

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: In light of all of the turmoil surrounding Kanye West's life prior to the release of his last full length player, the near fatal Antares© Auto-Tune™ asphyxiated career suicide attempt of an album, "808's And Heartbreak", I am more than willing to give this creative genius a pass. Son was fucked up before ... period.

Fast forward to 2010 and Mr. West, Mr. West is on a refreshingly innovative creative tear the likes of which Hip Hop music has not seen in too damn long! So what if Amber Rose aint there to put the Hennessey charged battery in his back anymore ... he clearly has learned his lesson ... lol. Trust me yall, "Good Ass Job" is gonna be 1 good ass album!

NEW MUSIC: Maino - 2010 Predictions (Dirty)(NO DJ)

Streaming Audio/Download Link: Maino - 2010 Predictions (Dirty)(NO DJ)

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Much like comedian Paul Mooney's (Sidebar: Is he gay? Like, for real. No matter) character on the groundbreaking and deeply missed "Chapelle Show", Maino has become a Nostrand Avenue "Negrodamus" of sorts, dispensing his own unique prophetic ghetto quatrains. I mean, will Diddy let Maino get his hands on Cassie Ventura this year? The world waits with bated breath ... people wanna know ... lol.

No disrespect, but, I could give 2 White Castle® induced shits about Skillz and his heavy-on-the-punchlines-but-low-on-charisma-and/or-substance annual year end wrap up ... Y.O.U. will notice that I have not posted any of those records. Nah homie, give me some Maino "Predictions" and a shot of that Hennessey Privilege and I'm good bread. True story.

Behind The Scenes: Amber Rose October 2009 Photoshoot @ Elle Magazine.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Even though shorty's face sans makeup is showing ALL KINDS of tell tale signs of jet-setter lag, Amber Rose still oozes sexxx appeal. It's deeper than MAC. Livestyle Ladies & Gentlemen: Y.O.U. cannot learn this particular skill set in school.

I bet that Amber's sweat is a curiously captivating combination of hedonistic pheromones and ... Hennessey ... and crumpled up dollar bills ... and Newport™ 100's Cigarettes ... lol. I keed. I keed.

Yes, Kanye's redbone Strangé might very well be the new and improved "Sex Panther" ... word to Ron Burgundy!

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: How cool are these kicks? Sometimes 2 of my favorite things join forces, the spawn of which surpasses my wildest expectations ... this is 1 such occasion. Prior to researching this post I had never heard of Jhung Yuro or his footwear, but I am about to make this brand famous in the hood - 1 foot @ a time ... lol. Once I have received my limited edition hi-top Hennessey sneakers I will make it my mission to kick my feet up on as many bars throughout New York City as humanly possible. Remember: Candy's dandy, but liquor's quicker. Good shit.
