Nicki Minaj Ft. Chris Brown - Right By My Side (Official Music Video)(Co-Starring Nas)

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS:  Art imitates life in this visual for Nicki Minaj's latest bubblegum Billboard® chart sticker, "Right By My Side" for it seems that both offscreen and now onscreen Chris "I Wanna Be Like Ike" Brown has documented difficulty in controlling his hoes!

Yup, 1st Rih-Rih ventured waaaaaaaaaaaaay out of pocket seemingly never to return again and now, fictional though it may be, "Mattel® "Booty Shot" Barbie®" does the same; chucking the "deuce" to Mr. "Dueces" himself and falling for ... wait for it ... wait for it ... legendary blue-ribbon bar spitter and equally legendary L.O.V.E. loser, Nasty Nas! Ha haaaaaaaaa! Way to go all #Tongueslut on her Esco! Good shit!

Rihanna - We Found Love (Official Music Video)

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Word up, I almost didn't even post this video because the Chris Brown look-a-like(?) in this shit has more than a little too much sugar in his tank. This estrogen filled cream puff threatens the integrity of this video with each and every frame that he skips into, but, Rihanna ... ohhhhhhhhhh, Rihanna makes everything alright.

Furthermore, I can appreciate (NOTE: Although unoriginal in concept and most likely predatory in its usage, given the fact that today's youth are painfully uninformed and proud, making it that much easier to pass-off pre-shrunk ideas as new and "cutting edge".) the drug fueled toxic-romance subtext with a British twist ala Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen intermeshed with Rih-Rih's real life relationship woes for this clip, sooooooooooooooooo, yeah, "We Found Love" gets a day pass ... lol. Cheers!

The Official Livestyle MTV 2011 VMA's Recap AKA This Is The 3rd Annual This Is The G-Cap/This Is The G-Mix!

Uno.

Dos.

Tres.

Quatro.

Cinco.

BONUS: Beyonce's Womb = The REAL Watch The Throne.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: I will be the 1st to admit that my once prodigious publishing output has slowed to a crawl for much of this Summer. I could easily point to the fact that where other bloggers often post some greasy talking-from-the-comfort-of-an-internet-cafe misinformed barbs, I actually do extensive research in my continued effort to provide the loyal Livestyle community with the unique brand of intelligent commentary that Y.O.U. have come to cherish over the years. To be sure, my "quality over quantity" approach to blogging is beyond repute, however, to reflexively rely on such an excuse without acknowledging my own shortcomings would be tantamount to "copping a plea", and I'm just not comfortable with doing shit like that homie. Y.O.U. and I both deserve better.

To that end, whilst the 2011 MTV V.ideo M.usic A.wards did take place nearly 2 long days ago, it would be most negligent of me to not weigh in on the annual collective celebrity self aggrandizing party that is this show with some of my signature editorialization. My general animus towards ALL award shows aside, it is my sworn duty to provide Y.O.U. with a brief rundown of all the pop-culture news that is fit to type ... lol.

Anyway, broadcasting live from the West Coast for the 3rd consecutive year (NOTE: An incredibly fortuitous feat of scheduling as this weekend was ALL about Hurricane-turned-limping-tropical-storm-Irene for those of us along the East Coast), the 2011 VMA's was as star-studded an event as any. Now, honestly, I did NOT watch the entire show. No, instead this entry has been cobbled together from a handful of Google searches in preparation for this post and the few performances that I did see when flipping back-and-forth from NFL Sunday Night Football. Don't hate.

Soooooooooooo, what did I learn this year boys and girls? Well, 1) Beyonce is pregnant by Jay-Z. This factoid came to my attention courtesy of my stompingly excited Facebook status newly informed girlfriend. Big whoops! I mean, I'm happy for them, but I don't care like that my nigga. 2) Lady Gaga might be well on her outrageous way to becoming as great a thespian as she is a singer. Her spirited rendition of stereotypical working class New York City every-man "Jo Calderone" made me laugh ... a little. 3) Britney Spears is back. Justin Beiber can't be stopped. And Nicki Minaj is styled by the drug LSD. Oh yeah, proud poppa to be Jay-Z and Kanye West performed "Otis" like 2 kids in a candy store and Lil Wayne closed out the show with "How To Love" and "John".

At the end of the day, as always, some people lost and some people won. A good time was had by all. Holla @ ya boy in BK!

Sooooooooooooooo, Yeah, Hot 97 Summer Jam 2011 Happened Yesterday. This Is What Y.O.U. x I Missed.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Not to be completely outdone by such niggerific shennanigans as Memorial Day Weekend in Miami and Black Bike Weekend in Myrtle Beach,SC, we in the NYC Tri-State area have our very own annual Hot 97 Summer Jam (NOTE: Which is promptly followed up next weekend by the annual National Puerto Rican Day Parade - a caliente mess of irresponsibly spandexed mamis, fly tetas and more! Yes, June is one H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks of a month in New York City. Word to the ghost of Freaknik ... lol) @ New Jersey's brand new Meadowlands Arena. As the scent of weed wafted from the bleachers and the sounds of Hip Hop's curent heavyweights blared from the speakers, for 1 night @ least - this year - ALL in attendance got to pretend that DJ Mister Cee is NOT a stone cold homosexual and that all was right with the world ... lol.

Lil Wayne and his YMCMB team of tax write-offs (NOTE: Excluding Drake (Who was there) and Nicki Minaj (Who was in absentia from her hometown concert due to a scheduling conflict that saw everybody's favorite "Mattel® "Booty Shot" Barbie®" poppin' her pink plastic @ the 2011 MTV Movie Awards) headlined the show while a braless SeƱor Rozay and his extra lidocaine cut cohorts hit the stage for the 2nd biggest set of the night. Above are some of the highlights. Enjoy!

NEW MUSIC: Big Sean Ft. Chris Brown - My Last (Dirty)(NO DJ)

The First Lady of LiveStyle Says: Thanks to my good friend @zenojones, I had the pleasure of listening to Big Sean's new single featuring Chris Brown last week before it hit the airwaves today. I'm happy to see he's found his way into his own. Sean has said on multiple interviews that just because he had the Kanye co-sign, that didn't mean the work was going to be handed to him. 'Ye presented him with a platform and he ran with it. Kudos to my G.O.O.D. Music signee!

Chris Brown x Rihanna - The Way We Used To Be (YouTube Fan Submitted Video)

The 1st Lady of LiveStyle Says: Chris Brown recently made a statement on Twitter after a fan created and posted this video saying, "FOR THE FELLAS: showing emotion doesn't make u weak... BEING HONEST MAKES U STRONG." Hear, hear, young Mr. Brown could not have said it any better - looking @ him showing some much needed maturity. Inspite of all the bulls#!t, it had to be heart breaking for him to sit back and watch the memories come to surface so vividly. I was even hesitant to post this, but for once my heart honestly goes out to the kid. Y.O.U. can clearly see young L.O.V.E. once again homie. In due time Breezy, in due time. ;c )

Leaders Do Real Shit x Chris Brown Does Real Work.

Ever since the incident (that Y.O.U. and I are ALL too tired of hearing about) I have had a hard time cosigning anything that Chris Brown does.  However, that having been said, when it comes to being a brand rep for my company, I almost have no choice.  Although I wish he wasn't wearing a fresh fitted emblazoned with the Leaders Seal as he carried ladders and looked to be taking out some pent up anger on some innocent bushes on his 1st day of court ordered community service, at least he is being productive and was nice enough to wave to the spectators.  In the almighty words of Mike 100's "Leaders. Don't believe it? Y.O.U. can peep it on the brim."

Chris Brown Publicly Apologizes To Rihanna.. Or Does He?

Get theeee f*ck outtaaa hereee! If that wasn't the most rehearsed apology I have ever seen. Y.O.U. cant be serious if Y.O.U. take him serious. Buddy was reading from cue cards! Admittedly, maybe I am being a little harsh because I'm a LiveStyle Lady but I'll be damned if I associate myself with someone capable of putting a woman in harms way. My BROTHERS taught me better than that.

But on the other hand, all I can say is that it's time for young Chris Breezy and the media to move on. Let him live Jay Z!

Message To Chris Brown: Rihanna Might Forgive Y.O.U., But Jail Might Not.

"(CNN) -- Singer Rihanna, through her lawyer, asked a judge Thursday not to prohibit her boyfriend, singer Chris Brown, from having contact with her while he faces felony charges of assaulting her.

The judge granted Rihanna's request.

Brown, 19, allegedly attacked Rihanna, 21, during an argument in February that began when she found a text message from another woman on his cell phone, according to a sworn police statement.

Brown appeared before a judge Thursday on the two felony counts, but his arraignment was delayed until next month at the request of his lawyer.

Authorities charged Brown on Thursday with felony counts of assault and making criminal threats, the Los Angeles County, California, District Attorney's Office said. If he is convicted, the sentence could range from probation to four years and eight months in prison, the office said.

While Los Angeles County Judge Kristi Lousteau warned Brown "not to annoy, harass, molest, threaten or use force or violence against anyone," Lousteau did not issue a "no contact" order that would have kept Brown away from the woman he is accused of beating. Watch a discussion of the charges -- and Brown's future »

Rihanna's lawyer, Donald Etra, stood near Brown and his lawyer, Mark Geragos, during the brief hearing. Rihanna was not in the courtroom.

Referring to the "no contact" order that could have been imposed, Etra told reporters after the hearing, "Rihanna requested that no such order be issued."

Etra said the less stringent protective order against harassment and threats signed by Lousteau was "more than sufficient in this case." Etra did not respond when reporters asked if the singer was cooperating with prosecutors in the case against Brown.

Brown, dressed in a suit and tie, said little during the hearing, except to answer "yes" when the judge asked him if he wished to waive his right to a speedy trial in exchange for a delay in arraignment. He then signed a waiver, which also allows Geragos to appear without him in court for hearings on routine issues.

Lousteau ordered Brown to return to court on April 6 for formal arraignment.

Court documents released Thursday revealed details about the case against Brown, including a police statement that the incident began when Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, found a text message on Brown's cell phone from "a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with."

A search warrant used by police to obtain cell phone records related to the case included the sworn statement by Los Angeles Police Detective DeShon Andrews in which he detailed what allegedly happened in the early morning hours of February 8.

"Brown was driving a vehicle with Robyn F. as the front passenger on an unknown street in Los Angeles. Robyn F. picked up Brown's cellular phone and observed a three-page text message from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with.

"A verbal argument ensued and Brown pulled the vehicle over on an unknown street, reached over Robyn F. with his right hand, opened the car door and attempted to force her out. Brown was unable to force Robyn F. out of the vehicle because she was wearing a seat belt. When he could not force her to exit, he took his right hand and shoved her head against he passenger window of the vehicle, causing an approximate one-inch raised circular contusion.

"Robyn F. turned to face Brown and he punched her in the left eye with his right hand. He then drove away in the vehicle and continued to punch her in the face with his right hand while steering the vehicle with his left hand. The assault caused Robyn F.'s mouth to fill with blood and blood to splatter all over her clothing and the interior of the vehicle.

"Brown looked at Robyn F. and stated, 'I'm going to beat the s--t out of you when we get home! You wait and see!' "

The detective said "Robyn F." then used her cell phone to call her personal assistant Jennifer Rosales, who did not answer.

"Robyn F. pretended to talk to her and stated, 'I'm on my way home. Make sure the police are there when I get there.'

"After Robyn F. faked the call, Brown looked at her and stated, 'You just did the stupidest thing ever! Now I'm really going to kill you!'"

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Let's be clear: While I am sure that this was not the 1st time that Chris Brown put the R&B pimp hand to Rihanna's ample forehead and I too know the fury that can be incited be a nosey woman taking it upon herself to rifle through your belongings, that in no way should excuse his behavior - the little nigga took things waaaaaaaaaaay too far.

In the glaring light of public (and, now, criminal) court, Chris Brown has been revealed to be a simple boy who has fallen victim to his success and the "anything goes" atmosphere that it has created around him. Apparently, when a child is earning adult money, nobody can correct them and teach them right from wrong without fear of losing their grip upon this walking, talking, singing and dancing "Golden Ticket".

Rihanna is just as fucked up for getting back with son.

Add this case to the folder of evidence that proves that fame, fortune and immense talent does NOT prevent celebrities from exhibiting the same human frailties that we see everyday all around us. It is what it is.

Chris Brown x Rihanna: All Jokes Aside ... This Picture Is "Disturbia".

LAPD Official "Unauthorized Release Of Photograph" Statement 02/19/09 (.PDF File): "Disturbia" - LAPD Style

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: This is not funny. This picture that was apparently leaked to celebrity gossip site/paparazzi playground TMZ.Com of Rihanna post Chris Brown beat down has put a gruesome face on domestic or, in this particular case, vehicular violence. Clearly, these kids were really thumpin' in that rental.

While I fully understand the urge to punch a bitch in the face, our GOD given ability to reason should (with the exception of being faced with imminent bodily harm) always preclude us from doing so. Look @ the matching speed knots on BOTH sides of her forehead. No bueno.

Grammy Awards Pre-Show: Did Chris Brown Mollywop Rihanna In L.A. Over The Weekend?

Chris Brown to Rihanna: "Are you for real baby? How many times have I told you about rummaging through my BlackBerry® yo? Have you ever been beat in your massive forehead with an umbrella? Huh? I didn't think so."

"Chris Brown Under Investigation for Felony Battery

By Ken Lee

Chris Brown is under investigation for alleged domestic violence felony battery, the LAPD confirms to PEOPLE.

"The identity of the victim will not be released," said Officer April Harding. "Any victim who's involved in a domestic violence incident is entitled to confidentiality."

Officer Harding added: "If police locate Brown, yes, he's subject to arrest."

Both Brown, 19, and girlfriend Rihanna, 20, were scheduled to perform at the Grammys, but this statement was released Sunday evening: "We have just been informed that Rihanna will not be attending tonight's 51st Annual Grammy Awards. We're sorry she is unable to join us this evening."

Around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Brown and a woman were in a vehicle in L.A. when they became involved in an argument, according to a police statement. After stopping his car, the R&B singer and the woman got out and the argument escalated. The LAPD received a 911 call reporting the disturbance.

When officers arrived they found the victim, but Brown had already left the scene, the statement reads. The woman suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker, police say.

The LAPD is conducting an investigation into the incident.

As for why this case is being investigated as a felony and not a misdemeanor, Officer Karen Smith explained "because there was visible injury on the victim. It can be as small as a scratch or much worse, as long as injuries are visible, it's considered a felony."

Earlier Saturday night Brown and Rihanna were at the Recording Academy and Clive Davis's Pre-Grammy Gala in Beverly Hills.

When asked about Rihanna's well being, her rep told PEOPLE, "Rihanna is well. Thank you for your concern and support."

Halfway through the Grammy telecast, the Academy sent out this statement: "We have just been informed that Chris Brown will not be attending tonight's 51st Annual Grammy Awards. We're sorry he is unable to join us this evening."

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: First and foremost, while I am soooooooooooo sure that Rihanna can be a world class biyotch, that in no way, shape or form entitles her to having hands put on her forehead and being beat about the body and, then, kicked out of the whip by Chris Brown.

Now, in all fairness, these are merely allegations @ this point and Chris Brown's accuser has not been identified, but, both his and Rihanna's abrupt absences from the 2009 Grammy Awards smells mighty fishy ... lol. Let's hope that young Chris Brown does not stumble down the same tragic my-legendary-woman-beating-now-overshadows-my-immense-talent road as K-Ci, Brian McKnight and another Chris - Christopher Williams. Who knew that "Let Me Take You Down" was a threat? LOL.

Oh yeah, message to Sickamore: Y.O.U. and Rihanna are both in L.A. homie, this might be the perfect time to make your move on some shoulder-to-cry-on shit. I mean, Y.O.U. are a full time consultant now, right? Right.

Record Labels Are Still In The Slow Lane On The Information Highway.

"Record Labels Adopt New Technology to Sell Albums in Sagging Market
Written by Cyrus Langhorne
Tue, 23 Sep 2008 11:00:00 Z

Rihanna, Usher, Chris Brown, Akon and others will lead the recording industry's first major move away from the traditional CD format with to the introduction of slotMusic next month.

According to the Wall Street Journal, SanDisk Corp. and the four remaining major record companies have teamed up to create album-filled memory cards that will be usable on mobile phones, PCs and select portable MP3 players. The first offering of releases will include 29 albums sold in MP3 format without digital locks along with an adapter to allow consumers the ability to transfer their purchases to PCs from the USB ports.

SanDisk's general manger of audio-video business Daniel Schreiber is convinced slotMusic will strive due to its multi-compatibility with different devices.

"I don't have to convince you to buy anything; you already own it," Schreiber told Wall Street Journal. "I don't have to convince you to carry anything; you're already carrying it."

Expected to sell around the $15 price point in stores like Wal-Mart and Best Buy, other artists included in the debut batch will be Robin Thicke, New Kids on the Block, Weezer, Leona Lewis and Elvis Presley.

Composed of EMI, Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group and a joint venture with Sony and Bertelsmann AG, the record companies' decision to make the digital move comes months after the success of artists like Flo Rida who previously spoke with SOHH about his record setting single "Low."

"I thought it would be big but at this magnitude I definitely couldn't predict it," he told SOHH about "Low" being No. 1 for ten weeks on Billboard's Top 100. "It's just unbelievable. I have to pinch myself sometimes."

Despite poor record sales reportedly forcing labels to try alternate methods, other artists have had no trouble selling albums including Lil' Wayne who sold over one million copies of Tha Carter III in his opening week last June.

The new device is currently scheduled to hit retail stores around mid-October."

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: This sounds nice, but direct downloading is still waaaaaaaaaaay easier for even your basic computer novice. As I have already covered here @ Livestyle, it's all about greater convenience and personalization.

Message To Major Record Labels: Stop being reactive and attempting to bend the public's collective will to your whims. Go back, study the market (specifically the internet) and bring some innovation to the table. Stop trying to simply repackage the same old bullshit. I mean, @ this point, artists like myself take much of the grassroots marketing of our projects into our own hands anyway ... what are Y.O.U. bringing to the table Mr. Executive?
