The Limited Edition Stussy XXX Anniversary T-Shirt Collection = Celebrate The Big 3-Oh With The O.G.s In Style.

"This year Stussy turns thirty years young. As with their XXV year celebrations, a special collection of colab tees have been minted to mark the mighty milestone. The roll call of brands involved in the Stussy XXX tee project reads like a who’s who of the street scene: Supreme, NEIGHBORHOOD, Bounty Hunter, PAM, Leilow, The Hideout, Slam Jam, Claw, HELLZ, Firmament, Last Laugh, Hyde SK and Forty Percent (a revival of 40% Against Rights, TET’s brand prior to W)Taps). It’s a two-tiered release, with the drops hitting the US on March 6 and March 20th."

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: As my birthday week officially kicks into high gear, it is only right that I highlight my fellow progressive fashion aristocracy members @ Stussy as they, too, celebrate their "dirty 30".

Yes, once upon a time, when counter culture was NOT hawked over the department store counter and skateboarders actually knew how to skate, Shawn Stussy (NOTE: Whom later partnered with Frank Sinatra Jr. in 1984) transformed "Surf Wear" by simply designing surfboards, t-shirts, shorts and caps with himself and his tastes serving as the litmus test for living fresh. His handwritten "Stussy" signature was a Pilot marker prophecy come to life ... and the rest is history. Fast forward to 2010, and O.G. "skatewear" (NOTE: All "wear" labels ironed-on to generalized classificatory style names are painfully inept, but, do remain the "last best hope" that our current vocabulary has for describing dope ... lol) has been elevated to the heights of corner store couture. In today's largely post brand whore world, the aesthetically astute realize that Versace and Stussy can co-exist and even be worn @ the same time ... no need to marginalize brilliance.

Now, with 30 years in the game, the streetwear "Spawn Of Shawn" (NOTE: Patent pending ... lol) have assembled to toast this pioneering brand and ALL of the big names are here - Supreme, NEIGHBORHOOD, Bounty Hunter, Leilow, The Hideout, Slam Jam, Claw, HELLZ and Hyde SK, et. al. To commemorate this momentous occasion, each "son-son" brand has crafted a Stussy XXX Anniversary t-shirt with the big homie to show some much appreciated limited edition L.O.V.E.

This 2-tier release hits the US Of A on March 6 and March 20th. Cheers!

The Fall/Winter 2009 Bounty Hunter Stadium Jacket = Black School Pride!

"Tokyo’s Bounty Hunter started out as being vinyl figure brand rather than apparel brand at the beginning but recently they are more known for their dark collection. Almost all of their item, whether it be figures or apparel, are made in black base color with white details. However their cult like following is still strong today as back in the day.

Their latest Stadium Jacket is typical Bounty Hunter style which is made as a special piece to celebrate the release of ZOZO Mook by Japanese shopping network ZOZOTOWN. On the back of the jacket features a large black skull and bones design with Bounty Hunter lettering in white on top and bottom. The black felt body is accented with black leather detailing in the shoulders making tone on tone contrast ad white double stripe ribbing on the cuffs and waist. This item is scheduled to be released mid December from Bounty Hunter on ZOZO and available in limited numbers only."

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: My father has a favorite saying of his that where Y.O.U. stand on an issue depends on where Y.O.U. sit. It's nothing to see young helpless Japanese tourists scouring the streets of New York City looking for authentic bits of Hip Hop Americana and, increasingly, in turn, much of the fashion world looks to the "Land Of The Rising Sun" for fresh innovation and inspiration. Now, THIS is a foreign exchange program that I can totally get with.

Akin to other Japan based underground luxe labels such as Hysteric Glamour and denim demigods NEIGHBORHOOD, Bounty Hunter has established itself as a vanguard brand and the Fall/Winter 2009 Stadium Jacket succeeds in further cementing their still growing legacy. The masterful material mercenaries @ Bounty Hunter have been all about the color black waaaaaaaaaaaaay before the current ebony fad blew into town, so, just consider today's mode infatuation as the world simply catching up to them.

Composed of felt and accented @ the shoulders with rich leather this varsity jacket send up features a massive "Jolly Roger" tonal leather patch on the back ensconced by the "Bounty Hunter" name surrounding it. Don't trip, there are certain brands that the suckers and the latecomers can't touch ... let alone fathom. Get yours.
