The Drx. Romanelli "Field Medic" Blazer For Barney's Japan For Spring/Summer 2011 = Diagnosis: Murder.

"Darren Romanelli can do no wrong in Japan; in addition to the general appreciation of his creations (and a willingness to pay the prices they demand) by the Japanese market, Romanelli also has an exclusive partner in Barney’s Japan. The latest in his series of exclusive creations for the retailer is this Field Medic Blazer. The cut does evoke a standard men’s blazer, with a double lapel and two side pockets, and an interior done in a luxe burnt salmon satin. The formal wear influences stop there, however: the jacket has a quilted insulation in full camouflage; a military vintage garment care tag under the right armpit is one of those great Romanelli details. Romanelli’s embellishment also shows up writ large on the back of the garment, in the form of a chainstitched decoration. Check out images of the jacket after the jump; for those interested, get your proxy service lined up now, if you’re not in Japan."

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: With a doctorate in dopeness, one of the leading aestheticians practicing the art of "fresh" today, the esteemed Drx. Romanelli, has once again rendered his unparalleled services to Barney's New York (Japan).

The latest exclusive to the Japanese market (NOTE: Unless you've got some heavy connects in the "Land Of The Rising Sun" will to score Y.O.U. 1 of these surely über limited edition jackets by proxy.) collaboration between Drx. and Barney's is this Spring/Summer 2011 Drx. Romanelli "Field Medic" Blazer for Barney's Japan highlights all of the deconstructed glory that devotees have come to expect from the good doctor.

An expert @ reimagining the familiar, this Dr.x quilted camouflage blazer maintains a classical "dinner jacket" cut with a jolt of color that comes courtesy of a smoked salmon pink satin lining. The pièce de résistance, however, is clearly the elaborate embroidery on the back of the jacket featuring the words "FIELD MEDIC" in block letters, a large Caduceus (NOTE: The universal symbol of medicine that we've ALL seen which is rooted in Greek mythology and is associated with the Greek god Hermes. Yes, a working knowledge of history is an important Livestyle requirement too!) and the name "Doctor Romanelli" in a chainstitched yellow lasso style script.

Too bad the price tag on this bad boy probably spells trouble for your wallet AND your blood pressure ... lol. I'm pretty sure that Obamacare does NOT cover this! LOL. Holla @ ya boy in BK!

Comme des Garcons x Converse x Barney's New York = I Heart Luxury Kicks!

Available At: www.barneys.com

The First Lady of LiveStyle Says: I saw these in my Gmail a few days ago and sent them to my brother Chris Live AKA Shaker where he then encouraged me to post something for the male following of LiveStyle for a change. (In other words saying: "Get back to work Aisha!" in a nice way ... of course. LOL!) So let me do just that.

Since it is a time honored tradition here at LiveStyle to stay #fresh, posting these smashing Comme des Garcons x Converse Chuck Taylor's (available exclusively at Barney's New York) was a no brainer. Luckily Y.O.U. can order them online here @ Barneys CO-OP website. What would Y.O.U. do without me, right? Right. Y.O.U. know that a lady fancies few things more than a dude in a good pair of shoes! Lace up these Rei Kawakubo designed luxe Chucks and stay 10 steps ahead of the tired patent leather America's Cup Prada rocking herd. For a buck and some change, I wouldn't complain. I'm almost positive that my LiveStyle Ladies couldn't walk out of Barney's with a pair of red bottoms for anywhere near $105. Hmph.. #imjustsayin. LOL.

Signing Off...

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS:  Listen, luxury does not come cheap, so, when an event like the 50-75% off bi-annual Barneys Warehouse Sale discount bin-diving bonanza comes around - especially in this recessionary market - you'd better make that move homie. Having already launched in both Los Angeles and San Francisco, it is now New Yiddy's turn to give it the O.G. hometwon try! Be forewarned though, sales of this magnitude require Phil Jackson-esque Zen-like focus as Y.O.U. scour each and every corner of the room for a real come up!  Ready.  Set.  SHOP!!!!

Converse x Barney's New York = Perforated Perfection.

Information Courtesy Of: Complex.Com

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS:
The classic Converse Chuck Taylor sneaker has held a prominent place in my life for quite some time. I usually have @ least 3 pairs in varying states of wear in my arsenal.

Before I caught a glimpse of them "Boyz In Da Hood", the homies that were a "Menace II Society" or even read about the O.G. "Monster Kody", I was lacing up my Chucks and hitting the Brooklyn streets - seeing those iconic West Coast images only reinforced in my young mind that I was indeed doing the "cool" thing my nigga ... lol.

Anyway, I've been impressed with the gradual stylistic strides that Converse has been making in recent years (most notably their current large scale collaboration with Detroit's very own John Varvatos) and they have continued to turn their flame up with these perforated dandies right here! Pick a color, any color and proceed to make your friends jealous ... lol. Doesn't that feel good? While everybody else is stuck in 1 lane, Y.O.U. can switch up, step your kicks up and be an influence to all. That is Livestyle my good man. Holla @ ya boy in BK!

Cr8tive Recreation x Barney's Are Back @ It Again.

"It’s hard to keep up with all the Barney’s exclusives that Creative Recreation drops, but we’re thinking it’ll be tough to miss these Dicoco’s. The half patent leather/half satin (yes, satin) high-tops are the flashiest model of all the Fall 08 Barneys’ x Crec releases and should hit the high-end retailer’s shelves by the end of this month."

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Cr8tive Recreation (Creative Recreation) has been on my doplar radar ever since I 1st discovered their brand approximately 2 years ago. Anyway, while I have always liked their designs and admired their ability to make a dent in the dense sneaker market, I kind of thought that (especially @ such a relatively low price point) low information shoppers would tramp this brand out and I would 1-day stumble upon loose mismatched pairs of Cr8tive Recs in the bargain bin @ Dr. Jay's on Fulton Street in Brooklyn ... lol.

Thankfully, my fears of Cr8tive Recreation falling off have NOT been realized and this brand has been able to make their mark without being completely taken over by the "marks". Cr8tive Recreation has a strong history of releasing some powerful kicks through Barney's and this latest collection is no different. The satin x leather joints are bangin', but I had to throw the rich all leather joints in the mix as well ... it's only right. Good shit.

Andre 3000 x Barney's New York Present: Benjamin Bixby.

DISCLAIMER: The suspect nature of the above photo and the views implied therein are not necessarily the views of Livestyle or it's subsidiaries. It's just some fashion shit.

After years of "taking it there" musically and fashion wise, Andre 3000 recently launched his Benjamin Bixby line exclusively @ Barney's New York a few weeks back and now it is also available online. That's right ladies and gentlemen, he didn't fuck around ... lol.

Thus far, this collection seems to be a spot on reflection of Mr. 3 Stacks and his unique style - interpret that as Y.O.U. wish. Now, whether or not his "The Great Gatsby" meets traditional Southern gentleman aesthetic works for Y.O.U. is a decision best left to the individual. When I have a hankering for classic Americana and clothing that carries such cachet, I go straight to my man Ralph Lauren, so this shit isn't quite up my alley. I mean, upon further review, I would probably give the college knit a shot I suppose ... no bow ties though ... lol.

No matter what, I am proud of the homie 3-Triple-Oh for taking this endeavor so seriously and is continuing to redefine, in the eyes of the world, what Hip Hop is all about. Message To Andre 3000: Ummmmmmmmmmm, so, now that you've gotten this collection out of your system, can you thread together an album and give my CD player something to wear?
