CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Before the term "backpacker" became code word for a pretentious pussy or nerdy "hipster" when applied to certain Hip Hop fans, Buckshot Shorty AKA Kenyatta, alongside partners 5 FT. and DJ Evil Dee, brought his F.raklin A.venue P.osse Brooklyn bum rush to the world with Black Moon and their classic 1993 debut album "Enta Da Stage". With Dru-Ha running things on the business side, the entire Bootcamp Click once sat poised on the edge of illustrious independent label greatness, but, somewhere along the way they lost their footing and slipped into rap music oblivion. Their failure to capitalize upon their early independence (like, say a Cash Money Records or Roc-A-Fella Records) is a moot point in this discussion though because, no matter what, these niggas helped to define an era my man - timeless art is indefatigably priceless art.
With photographic like clarity I remember when I 1st laid eyes on the video for "Who Got The Props?" and it literally felt like I was watching myself and my crew of juveniles running wild performing on Video Music Box in all of our unabashed Brooklyn booster bandit glory. "Guess? and Lo from head to toe to let you know" ... shiiiiiiiiiiiit, Buckshot was preaching to the choir ... lol. This is Livestyle. Good shit.
