CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Following the crack boom of the mid 1980's, when $25 grams of flake and a box of bake could make a million dollar man out of a mere teenager, things were very different in these streets and much of the music reflected that.
Back when being a thoroughbred didn't mean that Y.O.U. had to keep the ice grill on 24/7 and years before he and fellow Hilltop Hustler crew member and rapper Steady B. stuck a bank, merked a female police officer, made America's Most Wanted and got hit with the death penalty in P.A., the homie Cool C dropped this 1989 Philadelphia gem "The Glamorous Life". More or less, this is basically T.I.'s "Whatever You Like" record 20 years earlier. Yeah, trickin' is not a new concept my nigga ... lol.
I can't call it for the rest of the U-S-of-A, but, in Brooklyn, we made this song our own hood anthem on some, "Ooh! Ooh! You got it ... a Triple F.A.T.© Goose" (repeat interpolated chorus 10x) ... lol. What Y.O.U. know about that? I know all about that.
