"Berlin based designer and ex adidas Creative Director Michael Michalsky has worked with MCM and Japanese artist Shinpei Naito on a couple of pieces for his Spring/Summer 2009 collection. The work with MCM is not very surprising, considering that Michalsky is also the creative director of the brand and basically brought them back from nowhere in recent years.
The futuristic hippie prints by artist Shinpei Naito have been applied on white MCM monogram bags, mens and womens shoes."

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: I must say, 1 good thing about "hipsters" is that their obvious tastes and trendoid automated minds can sometimes prevent them from fully devouring certain brands when said brands are not the run-of-the-mill thrill for Goodwill thrift store shoppers. Case in point: M.ichael C.romer M.unich.
Although the unmistakable MCM logo has featured prominently in Hip Hop fashion history, because the brand isn't as famous as say Gucci or Louis Vuitton, thankfully, many retrosexuals simply don't know what to do with it. Yes, Y.O.U. can add MCM to the list of former D-boy royalty nouveau riche labels such as Liz Claiborne and Bally - people really need to do their homework.
Anyway, German fashion designer and current MCM creative director, Michael Michalsky, along with Japanese artist Shinpei Naito, has splashed a bit of surreal majesty all over this MCM monogram collection. Although reminiscent of the Stephen Sprouse and Louis Vuitton collaborations, I do not regard this range as similar enough to warrant outcries of "biting" ... lol.
Yall might be surprised to hear this but, as conservative as my clothing values may be, I totally fuxs with these white lace up hard bottoms. See, this is the irony that "hipsters" work so hard for yet rarely achieve - it's not about making a glowing spectacle of yourself, but, rather, it is all about striking silhouettes and contrasts homie. Oh yeah, the bags for the ladies, with their flowery displays juxtaposed against patent leather studded corners, is good money. Yall already know that yall can get away with soooooooooooooo much more of that extra shit than us guys ... lol. This German collection is the schnitzel my nitzel ... lol.
