Streaming Audio/Download Link: Rick Ross - Push 'Em Over The Edge (G-Unit Diss)(Dirty)(NO DJ)
CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Well, you've gotta give it to Rick Ross, he is certainly trying to go blow-for-blow with 50 Cent, the head butcher @ the rap "beef" meat marketing plan plant. If nothing else, Rick Ross should get a commendation for valor after this little lyrical dust up ... lol.
The use of the classic Eric B & Rakim "Know The Ledge" beat from the "Juice" movie soundtrack is yet another reminder that, despite his Southern roots, Ricky does have an affinity for and, more importantly, a great understanding of classic New York City Hip Hop - so, that's good too. My only thing is, again, with ALL of the gaping holes in his own story, I don't know if any of these diss tracks are really sticking. What's good?

This Livestyle reference was not a mere allusion to a subject, but, rather, a specific mention of the Eric B & Rakim gem "Know The Ledge" off of the "Juice" OST. Coming in @ just under 4 minutes, in 3 brilliant curse free verses (NOTE: Rakim never cusses in his songs) the 18th Letter deftly chronicles the highwire act life of a young crack slinger whose reign fades in and out just as quickly as does the record. Nobody does it better than the God Rakim ... nobody. Get ya mind right nigga!
