A Very Special LiveStyle Message To Jay-Z: "Stop!" (Plus Pictures x Video From The Inaugural "Neighborhood Ball")

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Does "inauguration" rhyme with "intervention"? Maybe not, however, an intervention of the style-kind is exactly what the homie Jay-Z needs. This is troubling on a myriad of levels, particularly because Jay-Z has been Hip Hop's leading standard-bearer of all that's well and good with regards to style for over a decade. I will readily admit that, judging from the pictures of him performing alongside Young Jeezy jacking the "My President Is Black" song @ D.C.'s Club Love, I had incorrectly assumed that he'd "manned up" and had kicked the horrible outfit habit. These new pictures from the actual inauguration and the star-studded "Neighborhood Ball" which followed later that evening have since forced me to revoke any temporary praise and immediately pull this nigga's card!

Listen, as an eclectic hood fellow myself, I can respect and even appreciate a touch of this "The Huxtables" meets "hustler" aesthetic, but, this "Revenge Of The Nerds" trend is getting waaaaaaaaaay out of hand and, with Jay-Z's co-signage, I only see things getting worse. No bueno.

P.ost S.cript: Yeah, Jay-Z's performance was alright, but I've decided to add these additional videos from the American Music Awards rivaling inaugural "Neighborhood Ball" in the hopes that these pleasant visuals might take some of the edge off anyway ... lol. You're welcome. You're all welcome.
