The Atelier LaDurance Woven Belt for Spring 2009 = A Better Belt For A Better Y.O.U.

"The killer woven belts from Atelier LaDurance are now available in new colorways for Spring 2009. Last season’s tanned brown is now replaced with black and and an untreated vegetarian colored leather. The metal 2 prong closure remains on the classic. Only the 15oz. Corter is as appealing right now.

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: The recent onslaught of gaudy oversized belts that started with Kanye West and his Texas sized Cowboy/Rodeo belt buckles and has since devolved into the Jolly Roger Skull bejeweled monstrosities that Dip Set made famous tells us all 2 very important things: 1) Hip Hop clearly does not know when to say when and 2) A Livestyle belt instructional is in order. Although we tend to focus on our shoes/sneakers, watches and fitteds when it's time to "put on", a proper belt can seriously pull an entire outfit together.

Now, it is imperative that I mention, right here and right now, that @ NO time is a man's belt supposed to become the centerpiece of his ensemble. Are we clear? I don't want to see anybody tucking their shirts (or worse, old man style, their sweaters ... lol) into their jeans just so they can show off their shiny new belt and it's stupid ass buckle. Belts are meant to be a subtle detail that, if and when it is picked up upon (like when you've got your shorty reaching for the touchdown), tells the lady in your life, "Oh, Y.O.U. thought I was done? Nah, best believe that I am official from the roof to the boots ma" ... lol.

These Atelier LaDurance Woven Belts from their brilliant Spring 2009 collection are an exercise in utility and have just made a strong bid to become an early frontrunner in my best-day-to-day-belt-of-the-year category. See, Y.O.U. need the Hermès or Ferragamo belt for the suits and the Louis Vuitton Damier belt when it's time to roll. If you're feeling super casual Y.O.U. can always get a canvas Diamond Supply Company belt and, the ubiquitous Gucci logo "Double G" belt, well, that's entirely optional ... lol.

Like watches (but, thankfully, much, much cheaper), it is my belief that every well dressed man should have @ least 3 belts in rotation @ all times. Trust me, the Atelier LaDurance Woven (available in a range of colors, starting from last season and, for Spring 2009, updated in a classic black and an untreated vegetarian, almost nude color) is a great place to start homie. Holla @ ya boy in BK!
