The Crescent Down Works Down Shirt/Jacket = 50/50 L.O.V.E.

"Shirt or jacket? That’s the question everyone (and we mean everyone) is asking themselves about this piece. We’d play it safe and call it a slim jacket. It’s not as if anyone’s about to start to wearing this with no undershirt, are they? So this jacket is perfect for the folks who like a bit of puffa action, but not a lot of it. It’s basically a watered-down down jacket (excuse the awful play on words). If you were to compare down jackets to music, this’d be the UB40 of down jackets – just enough to give the consumer a taste, but not so much that they get offended."

CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: Although I have made no mention of it in these pages before, I am half West Indian (By way of St. Croix) and half Latino (Puerto Rican by way of the South, South Bronx). Sexy. Furthermore, I am a trapper and a rapper (NOTE: Not your average rapper though, to be sure), a lover, a fighter and a writer and, much like an early Nas, I am both "half-man, half amazing". That having been said, it should come as no surprise to the newly initiated that I have an affinity, and, indeed, a great appreciation for the magnificent marriage of contrasts and their progeny.  Imagine if Othello and Desdemona had born a child.  Yeah, that would have been dope.

At 1st glance, the Crescent Down Works Down Shirt/Jacket is like the "spork" (Y.O.U. know that lazy spoon/fork hybrid that babies and fat people dine with), however, me thinks that this sartorial mutt is more sophisticated than it looks. This shirt/jacket dials back the down feathers, sacrificing some of the Sean Combs-ness (READ: Puffy-ness), while keeping just enough of the cozy warmth to make this a worthwhile Fall season purchase. Y.O.U. know it's not time for the brolic North Face and/or Marmot coat just yet homie ... don't be so eager ... lol.

Take it from me - I live, breathe and bleed Brooklyn - so, I know the homogenized horrors of gentrification all too well. The Crescent Down Works Down Shirt/Jacket aint on that bullshit. Cop this winner and get your luxe lumberjack on today! Holla @ ya boy in BK!
