CHRIS LIVE AKA SHAKER SAYS: 25 years after the original "We Are The World", a new global catastrophe has once again galvanized the music world to unite for a cause. In keeping with the times, "We Are The World" (NOTE: THIS is the remix ... lol) has put all of the right artists in the room, from all popular genres, giving us a range of represented talent from Celine Dion to Lil Wayne. Hey, whatever works.
Things are different in 2010 though. During the 80's there was no shortage of worthwhile fights (such as rallying against Apartheid and benefit concerts like Farm Aid) for celebrities to champion and make fashionable. I just don't want people to go all temporary memory on me and forget about Haiti once the hysteria dies down. It's cool though, in the immortal words of Tony "Scarface" Montana, "First you get the money, then you get the power ..." It's time to build.
